Autosave in Driver?

Well, it was surely my error, but I was about 5 hrs into a decent session and was in the home stretches and I must have hit the wrong keystroke combination. Without a pop up warning or anything I was transported out of my session and sent to the select session to resume session screen. I am not sure what keystroke I hit but I'm thinking it was Alt-R. I left the game in anger.... I was hoping some kind soul would tell me it'll be OK and I can resume it by turning my hat backwards or something. Long story short, I've learned (again) to save games in progress... Was it a bug or is there a keystroke designed to pop you out of a game so abruptly?

Alt-R didn't do anything but Escape can sometimes take you straight out without the option to save. I was able to do this after editing the session and then starting quick drive (ctrl+F2). Alt + F4 does the same thing.

That's a real weakness that I've never experienced before.

Cheers - Trevor

It's possible it was nothing you did and you couldn't have avoided it. I had a similar problem when driving through an urban area in a session a couple of weeks ago but I absolutely couldn't replicate it no matter how many times I tried. In the end I decided that, as the computer was working hard in the urban area, it wouldn't take much to tip it over the edge. I never did find out exactly what but I suspect that Microsoft or somebody chose that very moment to send me some updates - or maybe the anti virus programme saw something that woke it up.
It may never happen again - until the next time, anyway.
Good luck
Alan
