Automatic drive

Hello folks, I wanted to make a train to navigate from a point A to a point B and then to return to the point A on the same track and so on automatically, without user intervening, it is obvious Im doing something wrong because it didnt come out as expected, what I did was this:

1) I placed a sigle track (Auran Trk 01 1Trk type) with 2 track markers, named A and B, each one placed at each end of the track

2) placed a train near the track marker A facing to the B one, the train is a tramway, 2 engines (icetram type which are named as icetram1 and icetram2 during edit session) each one facing to each track markers and a car in between (icetram mW), for certain I made sure each engine to face each track marker

then these are the commands I set for the driver at "Driver Setup" option from Edit Session:

1) Navigate to Trackmark, and chose point B
2) Wait for (selected 10 seconds)
3) Change direction
4) Navigate to Trackmark, and chose point A
5) 2) Wait for (selected 10 seconds)
6) Change direction
7) Repeat

Ok, when I played it in DCC mode it seemed to work well, the train goes form a point to the other one and so on time and time again except for one detail, when it comes back it does it facing backwards, I saw it in the cab view, and the driver who was initially sitting in icetram1 engine doesn't go to the other engine. Now my question, is there a way to make the train go and come facing the destination point? is there a way to make the driver to go to the other engine? can anybody help me please?

Thank you

Welcome to the forums.

Which version is this in relation to, as you don't appear to have any versions showing next to your username?

You could try using the following command for direction changing: Change Train Direction <kuid2:70791:9001:1> (available at the DLS, TRS2004).
In addition to changing the direction, it moves the driver to the new frontmost locomotive.

Try replacing Change Direction with the Move to Train command, which moves a driver from the train they are currently in to another train of your choice. So your driver is in the train facing B. When you get to B you wait, Move to Train (the one now facing A) wait then drive back to A where again they waits, moves back to the train now facing B and so forth. Trainz AI does not like an open ended track so ensure at the end of each track is a buffer, or signal etc. (you can use invisible ones).

I'm sure there is another simpler command to move a driver from one end of a double headed train to the other but sorry I can't think what it is or if it ever worked on TS2009. There is also a Reverse Tram command which I have never used and again am not sure if used in TS2009. Peter

Edit: Brain has kicked in, the command I couldn't recall is Change Train Direction. It might be worth replacing Change Direction with this before trying anything else. Peter

Thanks for asnwering Peter, I'ver tried that command, but for certain reason it only changes the train direction but doesn't move the driver to the other end of the train, so it returns facing backwards

Thanks for answering wilts, Ive tried that command already, but it just offers to move to the same train, remember, I only have one train, it is a tramway, 2 engines at each end, the move to train command only lets me move to the engine that faced forward at the beginning, it doesnt show the option to move to the other engine, also placed buffers at both ends of the track, same result, the train returns but still facing backwards

Like 'p-dehnert' I have tried various combination of commands and I agree they all seem to work appropriately however after half watching the tram go backwards and forwards for an hour or so this afternoon (the other half was watching the F1 motor racing) I have noticed one little quirk. Sometime, and this seems to apply to many double ended locomotive when the locomotive changes direction the driver does not seem to move to the front of the locomotive until you select a second consist with driver then return to view the first when the driver now appears at the front of the locomotive.
