Auto shoveling of coal in Cab mode.

Is there anything in trainz that will automatically feed coal into the engine in Cab mode? The problem, is that I use a Raildriver and in order to shovel coal I have to hit the space bar on the keyboard, which I would like to put to the side out of the way.

I think the "Alerter" button on the RD shovels coal on steam locomotives. But it shovels twice as much as the space bar. So you have to be careful not to put out your fire. You can all ways remap the Raildriver too, and make any of the other buttons shovel coal.

Put out the fire? I didn't know that could be done. Can you please tell me how you do it?

You cant really do it in Trainz, but there is a consequence of putting too much coal in too fast in game. You want to watch the fire's color. A brighter, whiter fire means more heat, meaning you build more steam. But each time you add coal, your adding fresh cold coal. This will cool your fire to a redder color, reducing how fast you can build steam. Get your coal level to 200% and your fire might not recover.

My method is this:
Aim to keep coal at 96%
Shovel coal till at 110%
Let burn until nice and white or below 80%
Repeat as needed
