Auto Rotating Screen

My screen is automatically rotating to the left. It is super annoying, and I can't do anything with it rotating like that. It is only in trainz. Could it be from a faulty asset or what? It is only on surveyor on the route I am building, of course.

Hi there,

It's probably a stuck keyboard key. See if messing with the arrow keys solves the problem. I've had it in the past and that was the solution.

Kieran.

As in to where the screen goes out, and when it comes back on, it flips? If it is, do CTRL and then (I think) top arrow key. I had to look this up the other day in school due to someone messing with one of the computers.

If it's on a lap top, then I think it's CTRL+Page Down and CTRL+Page Up that will rotate the screen. I recall getting a panic call from someone one day whose world flipped upside down when they attempted to login into their computer.

Try this

It could be that in Surveyor Options you have your camera behaviour set to rotation. If so, try setting it to panning which will give you lateral movement rather than that annoying twist when moving across the terrain.

Mine is permanently set to panning in the Surveyor Options drop down menu. On the very infrequent occasion I need the rotation option (normally to remind me how irritating it is!) I use the Ctrl key whilst manoeuvring over the terrain. Ctrl is the shortcut which permits you toggle between the two options without having to go back to the menu to make any changes in your chosen Surveyor Option. As soon as you let go of the Ctrl key the camera behaviour will revert to your preferred setting.

I guess a sticky Ctrl key might cause the problem you describe.

So all these people have tried to help you and now you can't be bothered ?
+1

Perhaps we should all stop giving help and advice.

I'm used to the occasional questioner not saying, "thanks", but sometimes you have to wonder whether it's worth the effort to respond at all!
Not impressed :n:

Please forgive me, I wasn't trying to be rude. I should have thanked everyone earlier but just forgot. Thank you to everyone who tried to help me fix this problem. Where were my manners?

Well thanks for the good grace to come back and express your belated thanks. Good on you for that sir!

What would have been helpful is you trying the suggested solutions to see if any of them worked. That could have helped not just you, but anyone else following this thread at this time, or in the future. It's surprising how much people use Google to search the Trainz Forum for solutions. It also helps the members who respond with suggestions to know whether their solution was right or wrong. That helps with regard to possible advice given in the future.

Oh well. Rant over.

Good luck with the new route.
