ATWS Pedestrian Crossings

Those are not ATWS Pedestrian Crossings. ATWS stands for "Another Train Warning System". They are very new and there are very VERY few in existences.

They are equipped with sound too.

Your welcome! I was recently on a metra to Chicago and I noticed some odd pedestrian crossings. So I did some searching and found the details. These things are pretty cool and would fit in my route nicely.

OK I've got the ped gate finished, now I need to get the announcement worked out. I wish I had a clearer recording without all of the background noise from the passing train. So if someone could locate that for me I'd appreciate it.

That looks awesome! I will try to look for some recordings. Also I have a few questions:
1) Is this have the black danger box on both sides? I would recommend having one with it on both sides and one with it on one side.

2) Is the black warning box animated? Is the whole thing off until an train comes and the "!Warning!" sign blinks?

3) This one seems rather tricky but here it goes: Does the warning only come up with more than one train? If so, how would you set it up with ATLS?

Thanks for making this awesome model. You don't need to answer all the questions now.

Thanks and no problem making it. This one intrigued me.
As to the sound I'm working on cleaning this one up with some success but if you can find a clean one fire it over.

1) It's only on one side per the pictures I've seen, you don't want pedestrians stopping on the track side, but there will be a left hand and a right hand so it can be set up on either side of the tracks.

2) Well the black box dosen't dance :hehe:, but the words are off until the gate is activated and then the white letters come on and the red word Danger flash's. And I have a sound asset, like a speaker, that sets next to the gate, visible in surveyor, invisible in driver, which will repeat the warning message "danger another train coming" when activated. That is when I get a decent warning message for it to repeat.:hehe:

3) It can be set up with triggers to do that, since this is activated using ATLS. Just put the triggers on the far track/tracks and not on the nearest track to the gate.

Thanks for the response and I found a view things that might help.
This first site shows that there is indeed a double sided version and the exact height of it:

Here's another video if you need more information:

1) Response above

2) This is great!

3) Hmm... I have a 3 track mainline that has a crossing at ever station. And Passenger and Freight go on every track at different times. Lets say We have a long UP train with various cars comes through. While this is happening a Metra Commuter comes another one of the 2 available tracks. So it would be more than just putting triggers on one track and not the other.

4) This one is new.:hehe: When there is only one train, will the pedestrian gate be down with the "!Danger! sign off? I believe this is how it is in real life. Maybe it could be done with the gate and the box being separate ATLS Connections?

Thanks Again!

If you look closely you'll see that this is a completely different sign from the first one I made. This one has no gate and is on a black post. The lettering is different too, the "danger" is red and the "another train coming" is AMBER. These are pedestrian diversion signs.
But no problem as I will make this one too and I'll make a free standing gate with no sign and a floating sign so that you can do what you referred too in your last post. You can wire everything up with my invisible wire red. It'll be up to you to figure out how to make it all work the way you want.
