ATLS - Don't worry, I can set up junctions, just a quick question regarding saving

Hi all! So, I can easily set up ATLS junctions on a route. I'm currently making a fictional UK Tram route, so ATLS is rather essential. One thing I've noticed is that when I place an ATLS controller into the route and save it, it saves it as a session. Also, I notice that I set up all the ATLS settings including the controller, slaves, tram and road signals, road stoppers and invisible stopper and it works fine when I go straight from creating the crossing to testing, but if I switch the game off and then restart it, all the fields in each aspect of every crossing is blank and it no longer works. Is ATLS session dependent like the Invisible Signal by norfolksouthern37, or can it be saved to a route and be the same in all future sessions, like standard signals and speed limits etc...?

When I started downloading things for Trainz I only had 3 problems: ATLS settings always clearing, Bogeys disappearing and the train not moving when I press "Drive" and re-skinning objects and trains. The second has stopped playing up since I re-installed Trainz *touch wood*, the last thing I have managed to figure with help, it's just this ATLS stuff now that's bugging me, so more than ever, any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

If you want to save your ATLS setting to the map, you need to name them properly.

WHen you go in and you set all your settings, some where in the settings box it lists a code. Some thing like "ATLS5 1,1,0" Name every thing the way it shows that code. For your triggers, or thins that have the same name, name them as such "ATLS4 1,1,0 (A)" "ATLS4 1,1,0 (B)" "ATLS4 1,1,0 (C)" "ATLS4 1,1,0 (D)"

Ill see if I cant get a screen shot to help show what I'm talking about.

Yes, I do, and it works pretty well for me. Are you sure your naming it exactly how it says? With capital letters, and the [ not the { and as 0,0 not 0.0 ?

Yeah I've just checked and they're all "saved to map" :) Since I've started doing this, it seems to be working properly, I was just curious as to whether every aspect of every crossing had to be saved in that format :) thank you so much!

Hi,

Yes, all the aspects are saved. Some of the traffic light phase 'delay' settings (if you use them) are rounded up or down a little but apart from that its all saved by these codes. You can mix and match session or map saves but if you go for map saves its best to do them all.

I see you are running TC1&2 so you will be using the TRS 1.4 version of ATLS. This did have some minor issues with using those 'saving to a map' codes but on the whole it was OK. If you ever upgrade your verion of Trainz then I would suggest getting the latest DLS version of ATLS which is TS2009 and up build as that is bug free, (I hope).

Cheers,

Boat
