Assigning a name to these Pullmans

G'day,

I believe there is a way of assigning a name to these Pullmans, to the area which I have circled in red ... but how?

There does not appear to be anything in properties or download which would facilitate this. I have searched through the http://www.ajsmith.org.uk/trs website from where they come but apart from tantalising pics which indicate that this can be done, have found no specific reference.

Set up the Pullman on a track in surveyor. Select the '?' symbol, click the coach and a menu should come up. Select 'Liveries and Destination', then in the sub menu that appears click the plus sign against 'Destination'. You are offered a choice.

I note there is a bug symbol on your picture. Could this be a problem with the Pullman?

Cheers,

Thanks for that ... tested this in Trainz 12 and Trainz 2010 but unfortunately only options available under Properties are Name and Layer, there is no Liveries and Destination option ... I made sure that the Pullman Liveries file was installed.

If you have downloaded Andi06's coaches into TS2010 or TS12, you will need to do the following in Content Manager:

Open a coach for edit and look for the "superstub.gs" file. Open this file in wordpad and look for the line which reads. 'class Superstub isclass Loco {'

If it reads as above, change it to, 'class Superstub isclass Vehicle {'

Save and re-commit. You will need to this for every vehicle.

(Thanks to Stovepipe for this invaluable original advice)

Best of luck,

Beautiful, thanks very much for your help. The image below is from Trainz 2010

Now, for Trainz 12: when you right click on a file on CM3.5 and select open for edit in Explorer, it opens an explorer window, but this does not contain the file which I want to edit?

Are you sure you have looked at all the files in edit? The superstud.gs file should be near the end of the long list

Yes, I think this has something to do with Trainz 12 and the different ways it handles content ... will work on it ... might post a message in the Trainz 12 section of this forum.

But it has worked in Trainz 2010 so it's probably only a matter of time;)

Sounded like a good idea. Moved the modified coach from T2010 to T12 ... while CM happily loaded it, any attempt to adjust the liveries by pressing on Properties produced a script error which crashed T12 altogether... doing yet another database repair :(

Interestingly have still not been able to resolve my inability to edit files in T12 ... right click and edit in Explorer opens up My Documents in Explorer where no Trainz files exist ??? The same happens when I press Ctrl+Shift+E.

Hi,

I have just made the changes in 2012 and it works in exactly the same way as 2010. If the file isn't showing you may need to re-download the asset as it certainly should show.

Cheers

Paul

It sounds as if you have a corrupted installation of TS12, George. You may have to try reinstalling, saving your downloaded/modified assets to ccp for reloading afterwards.
