Asset not compatible with this version of Trainz.

Hi,

Since this is dealing with a multiplayer issue, I thought it would be best to ask for help here. It may be something I am doing wrong, I apologize if it is, hopefully we can sort it out.

I have TS12 and it has been patched to 49922. What I am attempting to do, is download a mulitplayer route, so I can get a feel of how it works and all that before I have people join. I read there was a way to password it etc etc. Anyway, I found the route I wanted to download, using the download helper, it appears on the left side highlighted in red and if you mouse over it, you get a message saying that this asset is not compatible with this version of Trainz.

So my questions are

What am I doing wrong and is there something to look for that will tell me what version of Trainz the particular route is compatible with?
I was up till 4 am playing with it and trying to find a possible answer. I hope I have given you enough to go on..

Thanks

By the sounds of things, you are trying to download an asset meant for TS12 SP1. It's possible to check this, but it depends on what method you used to find the route in the first place.

It's probably Trainz-build 3.7 which requires TS12 SP1.

If in Content manager, you right click on bar that says Type Status Name and so on and tick build version, you can see whether it's ok for your version or not and avoid wasting time downloading stuff that is for a higher version.

I'm sorry, I failed to mention I am going thru the download station and using the download helper and that brings up the content manager.. I'll get it right soon as far as including everything in my question..

Thanks

If you're using that method, it should tell you under Version (next to the asset's thumbnail) which version it's for.

Looks like that method is not going to be much help in that case. You'd do better using Content Manager from the start to find the asset.

Actually it only says TS12, not the specific Trainz-build that's why you need to check in CM and download from there, for example on the DLS there is a route Riverstone Island that says TS12, in Content Manager it is 3.7, which makes it SP1 only.

On a similar note, I have uploaded the A and SLT MP TS12 CAD V8.3 yesterday (for SP1 HF3). I deleted it out of Content Manager and it downloaded & installed fine for me from the DLS, and it runs great when I set it up to host a game.

However, a few people have tried to run it and join my running session, but it won't work. It's missing assets again.

I've had it uploaded (earlier versions) where it runs fine and then, sometimes, like now, people can't run it.

Can someone tell me how to properly check if everything is in order prior to my upload to the DLS? Everything shows fine in Content Manager but yet it is not.

Please let me know. Any help is greatly appreciated as it's really frustrating to those who spend the time downloading it and then it's broken.

Thanks,
Razor01
