Here is my Firefox color scheme:

ForumNew5.jpg

I also have the Global setting so all webpages that were once blinding white, are now gray with bold Arial black type at:

Full Zoom Level at 150% zoom
Text Zoom Level at 110% zoom.

You'll notice that my page border padding that was originally 4, is now set to Zero page border padding.

Ahhhh ... So Soothing !

I don't know whether this has been mentioned, but when you edit your post which quotes the other persons post you can alter theirs as well, I just corrected some spelling for someone.
And I to have changed that blinding white background for a grey, altered the type etc.

I don't like to harp on, but I feel I must jump on this band wagon as it passes me by.
I can't spend more than 5-10 min's on the forum now without having to move away from the very bright light, it hurts my eyes. It has to be dimmed somehow and the letters bolder. The old colour scheme was very pleasent on the eyes.

That's not new I've done that quite a few times in the past when there spelling as been so mangled it didn't make much sense.

I can give anyone who is having eye discomfort reading the new Forum ... Hands on training on coloring the forum webpages, and changing fonts, and zooms ... Just PM me and I'll help you fix things.

Yahoo Mail was absolutely blinding white, as were thousands of other webpages. I fixed their colors and fonts also using Firefox (which is free and easy to install and use).

If even "I" can change the color & font ..."Anyone" else can too ... It's not Rokit' Sience'

The same applied to the old forum also. How else were we able to "snip" out portions of a post we were replying to so that we could reply to just a specific portion of that post?

Big_B, their is no get more extensions, all I get is "Boo, no extensions", browse gallery" (Grr, stupid auto-save), click on browse gallery, then click on another extensions option in left column, and nothing about change colour.

Edit: It's not us that should be trying to change the colour from outside the forum. They should have either left it as it was, or got it correct in the first place, with some options.

Click on browse the gallery which opens chrome web gallery
Type in change color into the search box & hit enter
The extension should be at the top of the list
Click add to chrome & it will install ( shows up in the address bar near the star on the top right )exit that page
When you go to a new page it will be usable
Right click it & go to options

That's what I said. Fran1 was the one that didn't know you could do it in the old forum.

Strange icon

What is this mysterious icon which appears in just a few entries in the Thread lists?

There is no explanation in the Icon Legend at the foot of the page.

P.S. I’ve noticed some visible improvements since the first few days of the changeover. The bright background does seem to have been toned down slightly with a darker blue tint and the font seems to have been set to black rather than what appeared to be grey. The contrast is now more acceptable.

I’ve also noticed that the avatars in the top line of this thread (when viewed via the new Home tab) no longer partly obscure members names, although if you zoom (Ctrl+mouse wheel), the word “Reply” on the right hand side merges with the message date.

That symbol refers one to the tags associated with the thread.

Thanks Ed, but I’m still not much wiser.

Floating the cursor over them shows members’ names and/or other words like “Forum”, “ts2009”. Clicking on them does nothing.

What do these tags do and what are they for?

Im having a few issues with the Mac Version before I can finally give a details review of it. 1. There only seems to be 2 passenger routes, Hawks Junction and York to London, is this correct? 2. The opening screen shows 4 options, not 5, it does not show the Content Updates section and finally, when I do a QUICK DRIVE, there is only an option of a few trains to use, I cannot for example go into my RAIL YARD and select say a German DMU. Oh one other thing, how do I locate skins for example to make my own repaint of a particular engine or coaches or train? Thanks.
