Sorry folks, there is too much white on the screens and I find the new look too hards on my aging eyes.
Is there a way to change this?

I wanted to get used to the new look, before I made up my mind on my thoughts on the new forum. So I gave it around 15 minutes to get used to how the new forum looks.

I have to agree with certain posters here, the screen is too bright, and the thin letters makes it harder to read any printed words.

To be honest with you, if you were to come across this forum for the first time, you would think it was a hospital or medical forum, based on the colour scheme and how it looks, the forum looks too clinical, clean and very plain.

Railways in my experience have always been mucky, rusty and weathered, with this forum site however, I just feel like an Bob Marley style irish agony aunt is going to pop up from out of nowhere, and say, "don't worry about a thing, cause every little thing is going to be alright"...:o

My point is, the forum looks good, but it is Marmite or Yorkshire Terrier, you either love it or you hate it.

Missing posts!

Looking at ‘Find latest posts’ under my user name I can see todays, but there is nothing showing after June 22[SUP]nd[/SUP] 2010.

I just know I’ve posted something in the intervening 20 months!

‘Find latest started threads’ list looks OK though.

Hmmmm, is anyone at N3V going to bother to defend this "change for the sake of change" ?
Record me as NOT HAPPY with the "new" look........and I do not care if Google, Yahoo, FB and others are all
using this 'look'.......I use them as little as possible.....now I know why......too uncomfortable :n::n:

It seems that using your PC-Handicap Accesability Color/Font changes is the only way to get a gray background, with pitch black type ... and choosing a bold font such as Arial Black (or whatever bold font your PC accessabilty has).

I have mine set to gray background, and black type ... it has it's advantages as it is now highly readable (contrasing, complementary colors) ... but also has some disadvantages.

Who ever chose the now colours and layout didn't seem to take into account that aging eyes are better with higher contrast and that good design for forums and books basically shouldn't be visible.

The defaults are not good. Is there a way to change them?

Bye John

I agree these colours are hard on the eyes. Slowly getting a headache from viewing the messages. I guess a lot of us will have to go see our doctors as Chris suggested. I guess they don't want the older guys staying to long on the forum.

I have to agree the white is just to bright white. And I already have my contrast and brightness turned down but looking at these pages is like staring at a light bulb. If it dosen't change I won't be spending much time here. I don't spend much time at Jointed Rails site for the same reason. He didn't design this site for you did he?

Trainz is probably going to move to the game genre over time so your aging eyes, and mine, carry no weight. Most old people do not sit in front of their PC and save the world from monsters. Most old people have years of commercial experience so they do not buy every goodie that hits the web. But other than that dude it is whoooopeeee awsome bro.

I see no useful difference, only a change of colour to a very putrid washed out blue.

A choice of colours and themes would be nice, as per a lot of other train game forums i frequent.

Sorry, ...
Forums looks for me personaly bad. :(
The white is cruel, above all in connection with the blue pastels.
Too bad the one here has any other choice of skins.
Since threatens snow blindness.
Clear I do not find it.
