Article: Trainz 12 Service Pack 1

Downloaded OK, ran patch but it failed to complete, message was that ts12*.ja files were not same as those being updated.
I actually run TS12 from my D: drive which is a copy from my old computer. The actual registry program is on C: drive which I had to load to be able to run my D: drive version.
Had a look at both sets of files in /Builtin, they are same size and date, so what is the problem? Only difference is that I have files from TS09/10 plus S&C & Treez in the D; drive.

I have the same problem after the update had been running for ~20 mins. I saw GPavlich sent you a PM on the issue so did you get it sorted?

My TS12 installation is on an F: drive along with several other TS installs.

So, if it is optional, how exactly does it work with those items in the trainzoptions, if they aren't there? In other words, what are the defaults it does without that file?
It is still done in trainzoptions -- but trainzoptions.txt is now an optional file (not required), and should reside in the UserData folder, not the main installation folder.

No, N3V should offer the patch in physical form, for a small fee. Like when WinXP SP3 came out from Microsoft, I got it on a CD for I think $9.99 - just so I wouldn't have to download to 8 years even on boradband - or do it over and over for all the times I have to reinstall the miserable POS.

Just as a gauge, who else would be interested in something like this?

what horrible patch...some models no longer aviable --its white in menue but no pic and set impossible.

fix quickly pls

Hi SpalterBockerl, I've sent you a private message so we can hopefully sort out your problems. Can you please check your private messages and get back to me?

The patch killed my program it opens up to the main menu with nothing showing by railyard. cm will not do anything but sit there if I try to do a database repair it just locks up. trying to reload 12 NOW.:( Patch too big windows does not do well with 1gig patches

Hey JEB114, I've sent you a private message as well. Can you please be sure to reply so we can help you out?

How long does this patch take time wise

thanks

Matthew :D

Hi Matthew,

The patch time can be fairly dependent on your computer hardware. In QA's testing, we've seen it take as little as 30 mins on some machines, but as long as 2 hrs on others. 1 hr seems to be about standard though.

I hope this helps!

Heres my minor bug report. Raildriver buttons dont seam to work any more. All the levers and knobs work. But I cant sound the horn, or ring the bedd from my RD.

Might be a bug on my end, or with the game. Still investigating.

Thanks JIb228, we'll look into it as well.

We're still looking into it, but I'll send you a PM as well since you might be able to give me some info jack hasn't.

Well I just ran the patcher again for the 4th or 5th time and after about 2 hours I get

Ready to install from local patch file.
Current version: 49922.

Checking for available disk space for patching.
Unpacking patch file...
Patching from 49922 to 57720...

Failed to patch Builtin\ts12d.ja, file contents do not match

Failed to apply the patch: 49922_to_57720
Patching aborted.
I seemed to have gotten a little further after doing a QDR first. This is starting to get beyond a joke.

For N3V: Is there something one must do before starting the patch?

Why now all the sounds work in 0,0,0 locomotive that is in the cabin far behind? Before they can be tied to a certain point. Fix it.

I downloaded the patch and applied it - now Trainz 12 won't launch, all I get is an error message. Thanks guys, looks like I will have to reload my program:'(

This patch does not work I have been running this patch all night :'( its having problems installing so NV3 should done this in small parts like the other patches, :mop: this Patch, I got a broadband connection if people think I got a 56k modem which I have not, stick with 49922 version as this patch is taking ages and having problems upgrading to version 57720, do not take it when it automatically downloads to to your trainz 12 I have done a fresh install. I am not impress I am glad that one user agree its not a wise patch in history I am glad they are trying to improve but a 1 GB above file is not wise course of action.

if you got it installed and having problems reinstall it to 49922 quick and I be very honest with this,

My last words are what hell NV3 are thinking of I do not know but they should have done this in small patches to do this in small doses at a time.

thanks

UPDATE #2: I am not sure if re-downloading will solve anything. The built in Mojave route is broke with this patch. I completely removed everything, rebooted, reinstalled just TS12, no add-ons. Patched it, and 35 minutes later, I am not able to do anything with the Mojave route. Locomotives sit there, no sound, no smoke, no driver, even though I selected several different built-in sessions. So, I see the name Jointed Rail, on this route. I heard about others having problems with Jointed Rail content after patching. I can only come to a final conclusion: DO NOT PATCH TO SP1, you will be disappointed. Wait until all bugz and errorz are gone through. Speaking about bugz, that little red and white bug symbol shows up now, on BUILT-IN routes. Lame.
Sorry, I only saw your update now.

I'm afraid we haven't seen any of the issues you're currently describing for the Mojave route on any of our test machines. On my machine right now I'm currently driving through the ATSF #991 session and am yet to to see a red and white script error symbol appear.

I suspect something might have gone wrong with your database. I'll send you a PM so we can get to the bottom of this.

Will this service pack allow the installation of Pro train perfect 2 as an addon as I have it now in TS12 , I have this officially registered on the planet Auran website alongside all my other DLC ?

Was the issue with the texture replacement causing sink holes fixed ?????
I'm not entirely sure of the specifics of the bug. I know we did do some fixing on the replace asset tool a little while ago. I have just done a quick test with the following steps:
1. Open a new route in surveyor.
2. Paint the baseboard with a random size/direction covering of AJS Grass 01.
3. Open the Replace assets tool and replace AJS Grass 01 with Abraum Uni(Braun).

It seemed to handle the replace fine. No odd side effects as far as I could tell. Just to check it wasn't a size thing I opened Mojave for edit and replace some of its scrub texture. I can't see any sink holes around.

If I've misinterpreted the issue let me know and I can do a specific test for you.
