ARN

Here is part of the relevant tags from the config.txt file in a Sureshot28 loco, NS SD70M-2 WEATHERED,<kuid2:55290:11007:1>

script "arn_sfx_loco"
class "ARN_SFX_Loco"
extensions
{
arn_data-55290
{
number_low "2649"
number_high "2778"
}
}

also these tags are added to the kuid-table

arn_lib <kuid2:104722:2501038:4>
arn_icon <kuid2:104722:1959365:2>
sfx_lib <kuid2:104722:2502000:1>

You can get the ARN and SFX stuff from http://www.trainzproroutes.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=37&sid=326d96824a794d01f3551ac196594cb3 if you don't already have them.

Please note... in the line

arn_data-55290

The 55290 is the authors kuid. If you have cloned the asset, you
must change this number to your own kuid or you will get a script
error. Easily done!

On Westcoast Trainz locomotives, I noticed that when you change something such as a hornsound or engine spec, the road numbers disappear and I cant seem to restore them. The ARN icon is present on the locomtives when this happens...

If you edited an asset with CCP it changes the name of the folder
containing the alpha files. Not sure why it does it, I just know it
manages to do it.

If you read the Jetlog.txt file in the Trainz folder it will confirm this.

My experience has it this way. Edit the asset with "Edit in Explorer"
You will see the asset file tree. The names in your file tree will likely
differ from mine but the general discription will be

mesh_alpha_numbers
mesh_body
mesh_shadow

Change the name of the mesh_alpha_numbers folder to

_alpha_numbers

The means simply deleting the "mesh" from the file name. Leave
the leading underscore. Recommit the asset and try it.

The Jetlog.txt will tell you exacly what it was looking for name wise and
didn't find. So far this has worked for me every time, but I do check
the Jetlog frequently for assurance. I have yet to loose ARN capability
after using the CCP but it does require some editing.

Good luck!

This is a good example of why you shouldn't use CCP to edit older kuids. CCP is great for content Creation but if you use it on older kuids it upgrades the Trainz-Build number and tags. The result may be a problem that will require additional fixing. Much simpler to correct errors in older kuids using Edit in Explorer option in CM. Just my opion, YMMV.

The changing of the folder name when using CCP applies to all assets, old or new. It's a stange anomaly of the CCP. It is quite easily fixed if you know
what to fix. The Jetlog tells all when it comes to this problem.

Yes the CCP does change lots of data including the build No., but the
Build No. change doesn't effect things quite like the Alpha No. problem.
Anyway the fix discribed above does the job.

Now if I could get the CCP to react correctly to track splines like
old bridges...
