Some from me:

Location here is Ogden Yards in Calgary Alberta. First up picture of some silly rodent looking for food between rails at the very northern end of the Yard.

The junction below is located just before the end of track at the north end of the yard. It is so close to the end I doubt it has much use - perhaps at some point in the past the yard went further north.

Looking south from the same spot, you can see several rail cars parked there.

On the southern end of the yard there were two locos doing switching.

Which kind of locos are they? (I know they are diesels :P). Here is a close up of the leading one.

Chester Railway Station is a good place to visit and take photos because the train drivers and platform staff are really friendly

after a long hiatus, more due to disk space and time, I've finally restarted scanning my parents slides - taken in the late 60's early 70's of the last days of NSWGR steam. only a couple of hundred to go (then a massive cleanup: theres over 2000 scanned already!) :)

you'll find some more I've cleaned up here : http://www.pbase.com/stanb/historic

40 Years of preservation....

Halfway through three days of sheer heaven, 10 locos in steam, 40 beers [ for those with a driver] ..Unfortunately this am the WCR 47 derailed in front of me as they prepared the shuttle on the main line to Hellifield. Seeemed to jump the points, to sat grown men were close to tears hardly begins to describe it.

Not usre why, but miracles have been worked and its back up for the last day and hopefully tonights trip...

Enjoy...

D6953 (33208) and 33053 meet for the first time for at least 10 years! Now, lets hope I don't meet someone in 053, like I did in 208. (And ending up disliking them).

Blowingoff08288.jpg

In the meantime, I didn't know 08288 had the capability to blow off.

Ingelheim at 0' darkhundred. Cold, still a bit damp from last night's rain, I've got a belly full of Capn' Crunch, and I feel like all of my ligaments have been torn off, put in a dryer full of ball bearings, and stapled back on.

Time to go railfanning.

@ WEN

33053 is a decent loco, we had it for a while, I managed to get everywhere on it, take sooo many pics of it, and have it for haulage!

anyway, I have had an update to my fotopic.

I play...thread necromancer!

Bump with content! ;)

Some pics from last Saturday's railfanning:
img0029ld7.jpg

After the R&LHS meeting in Leeds, we went trackside and heard an NS freight on the ex-CofG line. We sped to the trestle over the Southern main to Atlanta, but didn't have time to get out of the car to take the shot

img0126um7.jpg

We hurried along ahead of the train, and caught it at Dunavant

img0190ui8.jpg

We then hurried on ahead to Vandiver, and found that the train we had been chasing was in the hole to allow a rock train to get through.

That's all for now! :)
