Felix,
Wonderful photos, thank you for sharing. Hope you get a chance to take more of thesteam power while it is still working.
Regards,

Love the engineers position in that! One time, when I was little, I was watching a unit train of covered hoppers go over a bridge, and the engineer waved! That last pic reminds me of that.

I was referring to the engineer in the last photo. LOL :)

I agree, always nice to get a wave. When I was a kid I had to ride the ferry to Seattle to see a train and I didn't get to do that too often.

Isn't kind of dangerous to take your hands of the wheel when driving?
Well fortunately locomotives don't have a steering wheels, so he can take his hands off.
I'll agree, I love friendly crews. If you want to see some, you need to come out here and visit UP. In my 15 years of rail-fanning the local UP line, I've only had one un-friendly crew...
I've got big waves, little waves, big horn shows, little extra horn, S&HC and my favorite, the unexpected horn. Unexpected horn is when the crew gives you horn when you don't expect it, and usually 95% of the time, it makes me jump.
If it wasn't for UP, I most likely wouldn't even be here playing Trainz, but since I've pratically grown up around UP, it's the only railroad I've ever really seen and it's going to forever be my favorite.

UP 6804 at work. She's prepping for a tie-down leading a giant ash train west.

Now here's a true classic. UP 2304 SD60M has rear-shover duties along with UP 7404 ES44AC. Truly a wonderful sight! Not everyday you get to see a Tri-clops in it for the long-haul these days!

You guys wanna talk about friendly crews, you need to get out to Collier, CSX give's waves and/or horns(I've yet to get a crew on CSX that hasn't waved) & NS gives a lot of horn, and the occasional wave.
