Two pictures of FP7A Southern #6133. Thanks to the North Carolina Transportation Museum for sending this locomotive. 6133 brought back some memories for my Dad, when he would see locomotives like 6133 pass thru the town he grew up in.

Conductor's side of #6133:

Now 'Little 4501'. Thanks to Jessi Krebs of the Chippewa Northwestern Railway Society of Goehner, Nebraska for his 100% accurate, 1/12th scale (1 inch = 1 foot) 4-3/4 inch gauge, steam-powered model of 4501. I don't know if that's Jessi in the second photo or not.

More on their way!

Now the Reason why I went: THE RETURN OF 4501!

Engineer's side of the tender. This was the first picture I took of her since her restoration. Note the size difference between Little 4501 beside the 'actual' 4501:

The face of 4501 (Engineer's side #2). Note Little 4501 on the path and you can see how 4501 dwarfs the model of her.

4501 and 6133 sitting side-by-side:

4501's Walschaerts valve gear. I always found the valve gear particularly interesting. However, I like 630's more.

The fireman's side of 4501. Note the specifications of 4501 that is normally in the 'front-bottom corner' of the cab is missing on this side of 4501, but is present on the engineer's side of 4501. I don't think they had time to add that little bit of info before she had to be steamed up for Railfest:

Southern 630 bringing in the Missionary Ridge Local for the start of the day. Not often do you find two steam locomotives up and running at the same time.

That should be it for now. Enjoy these pics.

I was thinking about this earlier, but my dad checked and found out that all five Summerville Steam Specials, which run from Chattanooga to the small town of Summerville, Georgia, are all sold out, except for six tickets. As the name states, it's steam-powered, so it's unknown if 4501 or 630 will be pulling them.

Nice photo Blake. Looks like when NS paints the freight car logos, they don't pay much to alignment. I like this angle.

Railfest 2014: And now, a Simulated Ride behind Southern 4501

Please note that the train was going at good speed, so the train was rocking from side to side, which is why the pictures are at an angle.

I have been avid since 2010. Here are two from yesterdays expedition to Newtonville on the CN Kingston Subdivision.

1) CN M37631 07 rounds the bend at Gerdau Amersiteel in the Toronto Suburb of Whitby, Ontario.

2) CN M36921 07 rolling through the fields of Wesleyville, Ontario.

Well, while everyone else was at the TVRM, I was at the New Hope Valley Railway checking on the progress on Cliffside Railroad 2-6-2 #110. They've separated the boiler from the chassis to prepare for the long work ahead.
