Are there a need for a way to find the gauge in Trainz

Hi people,

Over in the Kickstarter section of the forum I made a question about a way to be able to search on the gauge of Trains and tracks for the new Trainz coming, and I feel my self this has brought forward some good ideas and ways to possible achieve something that can at least be used till something better comes along.

See this http://forums.auran.com/trainz/show...-tag-be-made-for-Trainz&p=1287126#post1287126 if I am able to link it like I think I should be able.
Forum thread is called "Can a new tag be made for Trainz?"

I write it here in General Trainz to try see if more people support the idea, maybe make a stronger case towards the Trainz Powers (read Windwalker if you like ) and see if we can get some changes that will benefit us all.

Please keep it civil, all gauges are equal and all that you know. :)

I'm in total agreement. Currently it is up to the individual creators of track and rolling stock to label their assets with the gauge it was created for - and this is not always done. Even when it is done there can be confusion over the labeling. Narrow gauge, for example, can be labelled as "narrow gauge" (which can mean anything smaller than "normal gauge"), 3ft 6inch, 42 inch, 1067mm, and other narrow gauge sizes such as 2ft or even simply as "NG". I have often been caught out downloading a "narrow gauge" asset only to discover that it was not the narrow gauge that I wanted.
