Are the BR Class 55 Deltics oversized?

Does anyone know if the Deltics are oversized. I know the prototype was a lot bigger than
most other diesels, but in Trainz they seem to be much too big. A few examples: They will
not pass under the GWR open footbridge 01 or the UTA version (they are both identical except
for the colour) without fouling them. Unfortunately their height can only be adjusted to platform
height, so they cannot be used on any route where Deltics are being used, unless you suspend them
in mid-air which looks ridiculous. Also they will not clear a GWR loading gauge, even the nose fouls them.

Any thoughts, chaps.
Dick.

Hi Dick

I've always thought that the Deltics (and some other locos) are a little oversized. A good comparison for me is to put a couple of S&C Mk1 coaches behind the loco for comparison. Of course it may be possible that the Mk1s are undersized but I doubt it. As the Deltics are really nice locos I tend to ignore the slight size difference, but it can't be that noticeable otherwise there would have been many more comments about it.

Regards

Brian

I highly doubt it, perhaps the footbridges are undersized as is quite often the case in trainz.

Anyway, why would you need a Deltic to run on GWR territory ;).

The GWR footbridges are definitely too short, I've noticed that before on many classes (particularly the class 31s), they're about the right height when they're stacked on top of a platform though.

They should be roughly the same height as a Mk2 coach.
