Anyone Here about the derailment in texas

ya they canceled the amtrak trains for the last 3 days, just resumed them.

then yesterday in oklahoma U.P. BNSF shared trackage had a trian de-rail of empty freight. with 2 units of 1 U.P. and another BNSF

Speaking of things happening in front of you, I saw a home train watcher video on Youtube where a hopper car jumped the tracks right in front of the camera. I just looked for it again with no luck.

I did find this disturbing video where a train is diverted into a siding containing a coal train:

It's taken from the on-train camera with external sound only.

...It Happens...

 Just a good lesson on staying 100ft from a moving train...

Also, do not stand at a crossing at grade, on the opposite side of the road from the train...if a car gits it on the track, you'll be wiped out...

I read about it in The Statesman. You were lucky the train was going slow due to the curve after the river bridge.

I saw parked cars get ripped apart by a broken strapping on a lumber car. It was a good thing I was a good distance from the tracks as this piece of metal was whipping about hitting the cars and ripping the tall grass to shreads. I'd hate to think what this would've felt like.
