Kris, what will you use the laptop for? Hope you are not gonna spend 1000 dollars to play a 40 dollar game! Makes no sense. If you want something to run Ts12 and similar heavy demand games, build a desktop, and do it with refurbished, second hand parts. If you do not have the skills to build it yourself ask a friend or family member. I bought a Dell Optiplex 3300 and converted it with refurb parts from an electronic store.I spent 400 Dollars total, and am getting frame rates in the high 40's to 60's depending on the route.

I've got a Samsung laptop with an AMD E2-1800 vision dual-core processor, 4GB RAM, and 500GB hard drive. This isn't a gaming rig but it's a substantial computer, Trainz has had no problems for me with this new one. Get a wireless mouse as well, the touchpads are way too sensitive. Cost me a total of $370.99 USD for the laptop and charge cord, and a Logitech wireless mouse purchased a few weeks later cost around $15.99. It's a pretty good computer all around, came pre-loaded with Windows 8 which might take some getting used to.

I´m running TRS on a 2 year old MSI GT663r.
Didnt have any problems with its hardware so far.

Specs are i7-740QM, GTX 460M, 8GB RAM, 64bit W7.
Should be a good purchase by now.
