Dear Trainz staff,
I would like to take the time to just say thank you for giving out the free Silver membership codes via email. I have activated it and after seeing it's capabilities, I shall stay with the membership.

For years now Trainz has had a special place that no other rail simulator can take. It all started in 2009 when I came home with a copy of Trainz UTC fresh from OfficeMax, I remember my times as a kid spending hours upon hours driving and creating maps on the surveyor that didn't get far, but were still worth every second. Years later I eventually upgraded to TS12, and things got 10x as better, simply put. I kept running TS12 until I couldn't anymore recently as JR content (mostly the signals) stopped working. I bought TRS19 2 weeks ago right before my state went into lockdown and let me tell you, it was worth it.

One of the greatest aspects I see in Trainz is these memberships. It's one of the main reasons Trainz will be my favorite simulator. We have certain other simulators out here that charge thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of DLC, constantly reusing poor assets and cutting corners, yet they charge $40 or more for these things, have been using the same game engine for years, and prevent a majority decent content from 3rd parties. Trainz is the opposite of this, and I'm very happy it's given an opportunity to have everything one would want in their collection for a low price. All of the developers making this simulator have done an amazing job on this newest release, and I hope it keeps on getting better in the future.

So once more, thank you, for creating a game worth playing, for not being like the others anymore, and for all the memories you've given me.

A well written and obviously heartfelt "thank you".

Far too often these forums are filled with nothing but criticisms. While valid constructive criticism is vital for the growth of any product, we rarely seem to see the other side of the coin. Praise is just as important because it gives the developers a sense that people do care and do appreciate their efforts.

True enough. Many forum posts are of the 'TANE/TS2019 ate my homework' type and we see much less of the 'I'm having fun with my trainset' variety. Certainly in my own case of being an invalid Trainz was a lifesaver and lifted me out of the pits of depression. I do own t'other simulator, and I can't remember when I last did anything with it, but i certainly have to agree that it's not a patch on Trainz.

i think it all depends what you are doing, if route making , working on a big project for a long time, and something major goes wrong, then you feel like raising NV3 headquarters to the ground, but if you are simply driving, enjoying the game and using routes that don't have lots of missing kuids, then its mostly a very enjoyable experience. at the moment, uploading a lot of assets for the sixth day on the trot , its extremely tedious. :)

Don't worry Dan I've had my own hissy fit moments when things went wrong and I want to give someone, - anyone, - at N3V headquarters a good shaking. I can't remember when I last gave a Built-in or DLC route a run since I much prefer building my own routes or modding the heck out of old legacy routes from the DLS. True enough the 'hunt the kuid' game can get to be pretty darn tedious and annoying and while I do content creation myself the quantity I make is fairly small compared with others here on the forums, - so I haven't suffered too much from N3V's Babbage Calculating Engine throwing a mainspring when I'm doing uploading to the DLS.

However taking the long view I have far more fun with my digital trainset than I have angry hissy fit moments so that makes it a good thing in my book. As I mentioned in my earlier post Trainz lifted me out of a nasty depressed state when I could no longer make physical models anymore after I became ill. So I'm not exaggerating when I call Trainz a lifesaver.

Agreed, its the best way that i can forget how awful the world is at this point in time, its much cheaper and less messy than model railroading and its possibilities are endless. For all its failings, Trainz is a great way to spend time , its just a shame that its strengths ( its content) is also one of its biggest hassles when wanting to create routes.

NTekNiklaus,

Thank you for the very kind words, from all the Trainz Team! (I might also start typing in this font :) ).

One of the better posts if not the best and honest from the heart and not the regular trump/putin alike troll posts or those pesty wonna have for free bees!
Behind every product is someone or more hard working people involved who at least deserved to be treaten fairly and be supported so we can enjoy the broader trainz community for years to come.
Heartwarming that we still have descent people on the forum, when they post its constructive and nice to read.
I am happy too for the trainz crew as they need these kind of cheerup posts once in a while.

I can only agree, and there's not much to add. We can all complain when something goes wrong, me included. I agree with Roy, the Trainz Team do deserve a thank you for putting up with our complaints and still producing a product that we clearly all love. Otherwise we wouldn't be here.
