     I am designing the entire amtrak system for the western routes, including all of the superline routes. and cascades, and california trains. :) i plan to be finished around, december 2010 at the earliest. i will be uploading screen shots soon and if you could direct me to great amtrak downloads like new superliner cars, engines, and even scenery. that woudl be great thank you so much. look for this route around december.

Klinger's currently working on fresh Superliner cars, and yukonzoom is busy making an F59 loco. If I remember right, somebody was making good progress with the Cali cars, but if not then I think that it's on somebody's to-do list. You can already get Phase IV and III Genesis locos from the DLS, and I have a Phase V from somewhere. Plus Magicland's F40PH in Phase III and Surfliner is also on the DLS. You can get Amfleet cars in Phase III and IV from the DLS, although I have VERY nice Amfleets in IV and V, but I think they're conny's, and she isn't releasing her content anymore so you couldn't get those. No one's made the Viewliner sleeper yet but I think it might be on some to-do lists. At last check I THINK that someone was still working on a P32, but that might have turned into vaporware.:o I don't think there's any Cascades locos or cars yet, but once yukonzoom's F59 is done someone will probably skin it into Cascades, if not yukonzoom himself. If you want some older engines, you can get some RS3s from the DLS, as well as a switcher or 2 and I think an RS1 is up now. Plus, the excellent JointedRail F7s have been reskinned into Phase I paint. Also if you're desperate there's also some Paintshed skins of GP38s and SW7s into basic Amtrak schemes on the DLS, and a MOW GP7.

Hope this helps :)

That's quite an underdtaking! Do you realize the amount of baseboards you'll need for this? I suggest that you build this in sections and plan on smaller parts rather than aiming for the large project initially. The reason for this is two-fold. First you'll feel less overpowered - the psychological side. And second this will give you a chance to complete smaller sections to a higher-level than you could in the larger layout within a shorter time frame. In the end the modules (routes) can be merged together into a single one so it doesn't matter whether you do it in sections.

I'm sure others will pipe on this project and will offere help and suggestions. Keep us posted on it's progress and show us some progress screenshots if you can.

I commend you on your undertaking, but again think hard about the scope before you put yourself too deep into it.

Click on User CP at the top of this page and then from the menu along the left side of the screen, click on Edit Avatar and make your selection.

I some one could maybe paint shed some locos like p42's or even dash 9's into amtrak california scheme that would be neat. and some cali cars

Does Amtrak Cali even run P42s?

The Cali cars will be made by Klinger (according to his Superliner thread) after he's done with the Superliners.

A Dash 9 would suffice I guess but what you really need is the P32, which IIRC has turned into vaporware.

When they need to they will run P42s (they are painted in the regular Amtrak scheme)

Phil_C has a number of B32s. I don't think they are perfect; but they are good enough for what we have.

edit: This is a nice listing I made a while ago:

Ah come on! Give me a break. NO one could do all Amtrak western routes (West of the MISSISSIPPI?) in one "route". Not even in seperate Amtrak routes. Keep in mind that there is slightly more than two base boards per mile.
Try someting "small" first like Sacramento to Dunsmuir.:o

i am going to do seperate routes and once im am done on "my" list of routes it will have all of them conceted. they will be on the DLS seperate. sorry, i change my mind. hahaha anyways how do you make a session for trainz? i dotn know how and is there any possible way to find all of the stuff on the download station and... sorry, is there anyway to paint engines and use them for ts2009?

no they dont but it would be cool if am cali ran those. on you tube there is a p42 in cali paint scheme. some one should make it. maybe for a temporary am cali engine for the am cali route i have. that will be on the DLS soon.

I bought 'em. They are decent models. However I personally have yet to get them to work in 09 & newer (I haven't tried to hard tho, there might be a fix or something that will let me) Phil_C is a good creator and a "trusted" source for payware.

nice pic can we get this on the dls? could be useful :)

Nope; I've stopped releasing my reskins for the most part. It became to much of a hassle.

i agree-theres no way that someone could do the entire west routes of amtrak on there own!ive been doing scenery items on my springfield main line from springfield, mass. to new haven,ct. and its taken me a year just to do 62 little miles.it will take me probably another 5-8 months to finish scenery items and what not!and im not even doing this line with dem or hog files!!!!!!:hehe:
