Amazon

I have never tried it, so I can't answer your question on whether or not they work, but Trainz DLC on Amazon seems sketchy to me. I would recommend sticking to official sources like the Trainz DLC shop or Steam, or trusted sites like JointedRail, RRMods, and others.

Matt

I bought Trainz 2012 on Amazon only to find it was from Steam, so other DLC may actually be from Steam as well. Dunno. It has worked fine for TS12 other than I don't see the need for Steam, Just the only way to get it, I guess.

Well the reason why I'm asking is because I wondered if there was a way to get the trainz 10/12 blue comet into trainz 19, the blue comet for trs19 is fine but the blue is just too dark for my liking.

DLC for Pre-TANE versions of Trainz came with a serial number that had to be registered with N3V before it would be activated. Current DLC is registered to your username at the time of purchase. My DLC bought for earlier versions and properly registered, appears in the Content Store of TRS19 if it is compatible and I just download it. If you purchase the DLC and it has a working serial number then perhaps the Helpdesk could assist you in making it available in TRS19.

Edit: I just check and the DLC pack in TS12 only comes in Green and Red. Unless I'm missing something.

A lot of the coloring difference you see in TRS19 and up comes down to in-game lighting. Adjust your ambient light in your environmental settings and you'll see the difference.

In so many words, what you are trying to accomplish is a waste of time and money, besides you can't edit DLC in TS12, and anything in TS2010 will need extra work to get it to work.

But it was possible to get the dlcs in trainz 2010 at one point in time, if extra work is needed, what will I need to do
You may need to fix stuff in the config.txt file.
Need to convert the .texture files using PEV's Images2TGA. Doing so will sometimes ruin the textures due to the textures being compressed and decompressed then compressed again when the asset is submitted.

There are also engine-spec changes since TS2010, and there may also be script errors.

I don't mind the converting the .textures into tgas, and rewriting the config should be easy, but if Amazon dlcs don't work where will I need to go in order to get a blue comet with .textures that can be converted to tgas

You need to have the original CD-version because I don't see that available on My Trainz like other content. Murchison and others have been removed from My Digital Downloads or were never there in the first place.

On MYTrainz digital download page, it shows the Trainz DLC: Blue Comet with a serial number. I can download an EXE installer from that page.
The Blue Comet 2.0 is also available on the Trainz Store for newer versions of Trainz. They also have the original Blue Comet for sale for older versions.
