Am I the longest posting Trainzer?

Hi lewisner,

It must have been pretty lonely in the Forum in those days.:'(

I see that no-one replied for nearly thirty seven years. I guess escafield must have taken pity on you!

They didn't even have consumer computers until the mid 1980's, let alone 1970.:hehe:

Hmmm, I got a TRS80 Model II in 1979 from Radio Shack. At that time, there were also about 20 different computer systems available to the general public. Of course, we are talking monochrome screens and 16K of RAM. Games were mostly text based.

There have been a couple of glitches over the years since the great forum crash where the date system has reverted back to 1970 for awhile.

I have 6 Commodore Computers that still work. 2 C-64's, 2 C-128's, and 2 C-128D's. One of the C-128d's has had an extra 128K of RAM added so I guess its a C-256D, lol.

Moin,

Yeah, with the C=128D, later together with the SuperCPU and RamLink from CMD, it was a nice working all over the years. Today all is still working but putting in a bag and waiting in the corner for time to use it...

Keep hold of all these old home computers. There's a growing market of collectors and I'm sure if it's a working model, it won't do any harm.

My mate collects consoles and he's got more than I care to count and all working and taking up most of the built-in cupboards in his house. Much to his wife's ill humour!

Great Scott! Someone found the Flux Capacitor and created a Time paradox! :D and we complain when someone bumps a two month old thread.... Seriously though, don't you love it when that happens?

Did you realize a stopped watch is more accurate than any watch devised, even to this date. It is exactly right twice a day !!! So take the gold one, its good !!

I went Elf (a kit computer with 256 bits of memory), TRS80, Vic 20, C64, C128, Amiga 500, Amiga 2500 with a 68040, Amiga 1200, Amiga 1000 and then the PC. Still have all the Amiga computers. I even use a Commodore 1701 monitor as a TV hooked to my Tivo.

Been playing around with this lately.

Just on the subject of old PC's I've always thought it would be rather cool to rip the guts out of an old PC (like 1980's) and replace it with all the latest hardware, like renovating a classic car?
