Am I seeing things!?

Alco Spoken Here
I was in a car goiing home fromnthe airport, when i spotted a MBTA F59PI on a commuter train! A MBTA F59PI? I didn't know that they had those! Was it the darkness? My eyes? Am I going crazy? Can somebody confirm this for me?

MBTA doesn't have any F59PIs. whatever an F59PI is, I asume you mean an F59PHI (or by chance do you mean an F59PH?). However MBTA does own MP36PH-3Cs. They are often mistaken for F59PHIs.

I ment F59PH, but I was in a taxi, so...
On to the engine, the two look very simmalar, from my memory of the F59PH. Whats the difference?

I wouldn't know the difference either from the outside. It probably has something to do with the horsepower and engine specs.

The MBTA is investing in new engines to replace the ancient F40PHs that came in to replace the old Easter Eggs they bought in the 1980s to pull the antique BuddLiners.

Finally some newer stuff. It would be nice if they bought electric equipment for the south side and NEC commuter service though, but I'm not sure if they'll do that.

^ Or that?

the diffrence is that an MP36 is longer and they do look like the f59ph although you probbally saw an mp36 amd most likely the front and thought it was a f59.
