Am I missing something with quality

Any suggestions?
I suggest you type SD40-2 into the trains tab and place the Union Pacific loco onto the Auran Track TS2009. You can then recereate the screenshot for yoerself. :)

As we have said many times, World Builder Edition is all about new features and graphics capabilities that will allow more new content of this standard to be developed.

Cheers

Tony

Sure this isn't MSTS2? Not up to the standards of joram24's latest creations, SD45T etc for TRS2004. Just joking..........:hehe:

Will Auran be upgrading all its own content to this level??
Err.. no. The Community will be beavering away in the next few months making new content of this quality (or upgrading old assets). That's the plan anyway. I'm pretty sure this won't happen in the short term, but I've been wrong before.

Paul

That would be nice if they updated their content by the EE release date. Otherwise it is just a new graphics engine with old content

You're expecting quite a lot for under $30, aren't you? Of course, if it didn't load in any of the old content, you'd be complaining about that as well, wouldn't you?

Do you have any idea how long it would take to update all of the Trainz content to that degree of quality? Try TS2019. Of course, by then Auran would have long been out of business if they didn't release something in the meantime. And that's just the former "built-in" content. And, of course, half of the users wouldn't even have computers powerful enough to run all that content, so it would look mighty pretty sitting on the track, but that would be the end of its usefulness.

So if i was a game developer then i could release a new game engine and let customers build the game......:hehe: Just for instance Half Life 3 but it is really Half Life 2 with a new engine capable of producing great improvements to the game. You just have to create that game.

I wasn't complainig you sure are jumpy...I love Trainz but am voicing my opinion and alot of others im sure.

Hopefully the customers won't go by "Valve Time" :hehe:

Anyway don't worry guys, the community is a good one.

Had a few minutes to mess around with it. The same routes from 04 and probably the original trainz are still there in the same quality. I see the upgraded stuff and I'm sure the quality will increase with time and effort from the talented route and content creators.

I wish Auran would have at least changed out the old outdated track for us with the new pretty track. O well it will be fun to work with it and move forward with upgraded programing.

Not such a bad idea ... is'nt that why they release the SDK and Hammer ??

.

Do it yourself with the search and replace feature in Surveyor.

but they do not charge for Hammer or SDK or any other editor...They are to add custom content not all the content, it would be great to sell an editor and let customers develope content then package that content and sell it back to customers...

Butt this is Trainz and it is different and will be Great after customers make it themselves.

I rest my case.................................:hehe: :hehe: :hehe: :hehe:

At least the manual is not 2004 anymore good job on the new manual..and the editor work GREAT...Just some people were surprised by ony one updated engine to show what WE could do.

I will be purchasing Engineers Edition because it will have much more content then we could have hoped for with this release......:udrool: :udrool: :mop:

Understood, but surely they should have included at least one or two showcase layouts populated with upgraded content? This would help tremendously to sell the new version, surely?

True ... Valve don't charge nor do CryTek or any other Dev .. but you got this .. They are to add custom content not all the content .. a bit mixed up ... it is possible to use the engine alone and design and build from scrtach an entirely new game ,,, which is why some devs can make money from licenceing the engine .. CryEngine2 for example.. a product :) ... Point of fact is that Auran do not charge for an editor .. Autodesk do that for them.

Personally .. if it were not possible to add content , there would not be any point in me being here.

different strokes for different folks

It seems alot of people mistook this World Builder Edition for a game with new routes and trains. I think as I learn how to build my routes this will be great..If we would have read the Trainz WBE 2009 info we would have seen that it was just a builder with some new content. WBE 09 has all the old content with many issues resolved.:o

As for trainz without an editor and custom content that would suck..I personaly do not buy games that do not have editors because i like to make my own games. But I thought this was a new game with an editor as stated above...

and also Trainz™ Simulator 2009 Engineers Edition (TS2009EE) is a expansion pack for Trainz™ Simulator 2009 World Builder Edition (TS2009WBE) and also without Trainz™ Simulator 2009 World Builder Edition (TS2009WBE) installed Trainz™ Simulator 2009 Engineers Edition (TS2009EE) will act as a standalone version.:)
