All TRS19 Routes will be fully editable!

With the release of the "Sebino Lake" route to the Early Access members came the chance to see if the promise of "full edit ability" was indeed the case but NO as the message appears so " you do not have the permission to make changes to the route"; very disappointing to the "fiddlers". Will this situation change and then we will get what was promised?

Promise ketpt in my case. Just placed a large grey rock near the "rock tunnel" and it is fimrly in place. I did nothin special. Restarted a few times and rock in place. 97513. Self-cast shadows have a problem.

Well hopefully the rolling stock is, so I can substitute those dreadful 17 year old Alco signs the Aln668 DMU has been aliased to. :)

Nope. Just tried to alias to the Class 158 sounds and I get the not authorised message on attempting to submit. Not good enough, N3V! Either put better sounds on these DMU's as a default or at least allow us to edit the config.

A very beautiful Italian route. Great... but I have quite a few bushes throughout the route that are flashing all over the place. I used the bulk replacement tool to substitute the flashing bushes for ones that do not flash. All well and good but when I reloaded the altered route a lot of the elevated tracks were missing and a lot of the elevations had collapsed. Impossible to repair. I have had 3 attempts to change these flashing bushes but its impossible. Why are they flashing and why has it not been cured. Also why cant I exchange these flashing bushes and trees.

The Italian steam locomotive also uses the default steam sounds...from Trainz 1.0.

Let's not forget that N3V did not make all content editable, just the routes. I fell for that too until i read the tra19.trainzportal site more closely.

Worked here for fixing the Track issue I found, however you need to clone, should prompt you, which means it will be under your kuid but still labelled payware.

Need to edit route in surveyor when saving it will prompt you to clone under your own user ID.

That is really not good enough! When small developers like K&L Trainz can produce beautiful models with custom sounds and decent up to date cabs, the company that owns the sim and commissioned this work should be doing far better. I thought Rob Shaw was back on staff and he is an excellent artist and designer. Don't tell me they downsized again...

Could you please provide more detail so we can investigate further.

1. Which bushes are you referring to? Do you have the KUID and nearby named locations so that we can track them down.

2. What steps did you take during the replace assets operation?

3. Which areas of elevated track were affected?

4. Does content manager show any faulty assets?

I would suggest retrying the operation starting by cloning the original route, then making your edits. If you can figure out steps that cause this to happen each time, then please let us know.

As pointed out by others, you can certainly edit the routes, so what we promised we have delivered. We just need to figure out what you tried to do and how you got the message you did.

What steps did you take prior to the message?

In case there is some confusion, I have attached the warning message you get if you simply go Edit Route > then attempt to make a change to any part of the route.

(Note that pressing Clone when you see this message will create the copy that you can then edit to your hearts content).

THANKS Tony!
When that message, or something very similar, used to appear in earlier versions it was usually time to bale out so I didn't follow through as I am only used to "cloning" via "Content Manager". What I did prior to the message 'pop up' was simply try to delete a section of track to test the edibility! O me of little faith, I will follow your method through and say no more!

Hi Tony
I cloned the route because I wanted to change the flashing bushes. I started at the water end of route. found the first flashing bush - plant shrub 01. I bulk changed all of them for st_mm_or_osaka2_300_2m. I then found plant shrub 02 and bulk changed for the same replacement as before. Then found plant shrub 06 and plant shrub 04 and bulk changed them as well for the same replacement as before. I then saved as new route. I then closed down my sim and then fired up again on my new cloned route. I found between signals 126746 - 126580 missing elevated track. also at signal 126746 the tunnel entry/exit was gone, just a gaping hole in the rock. Next I found between signal 126750 - 126748 missing elevated track. Also at signal 126580 missing tunnel entry/exit was gone, again a gaping hole in the rock.

Not all the bushes with the above names were flashing, just some of them.

Thanks for the updated information.

QA have reported they are unable to spot the "flashing" bushes. Can you provide your settings (shader, texture, post-processing etc) and your hardware specs (CPU, GPU).

Has anyone else seen the "plant shrub xx" items flashing?

We were also unable to repro the corruption to the track (but did find something that may be related which the team are looking into). If you're able to repeat this operation, please let us know.

Small Pines "flickering" due to white spots on foliage tips and moving in the breeze. Looked like LED Christmas trees. I just bulk changed them yesterday. Don't remember ID.

Have cloned and edited routes several times so it works as advertised
It probably depends on what build number you are using. There were issues with cloning a route from Surveyor in the early versions, and then immediately making edits before saving. It was a particular problem if the first thing you did after cloning was to add new baseboards, but there may have been other edits that also created problems. It seems that there were parts of the code that didn't get the message that you were now working on a different route.

In 96000, I just cloned and edited the new route. [removed some grass from the pavement and raised some people who were buried up to their knees in the sidewalk.] Closed and when I reopened it, all edits were still there.

Hi Tony. Thank you for looking into my corruption problem.
After you told me you could not find any flashing trees, I assumed it was only on my pc. Therefore I changed some of my settings in the performance menu prior to loading up the route. To my surprise there was no flashing trees anymore in the whole route. One problem solved. After my joy I changed a couple of shrubs for different ones and saved again. on reloading the cloned route I found corruption in the track again. Always on elevated track and also missing tunnel exits. Also found a wall had been moved. I have had at least six attempts at editing this route now so am at a loss at what is causing it. I am always altering routes from the d/l station but it only happens on this route. Am enclosing a couple of images if I find how to do it.

It only happens on that route?

That's something else going on which needs investigating. There could be something corrupted and maybe an EDR or regular DBR could fix it, but it could be worse. As you noted an image is the best way to assess the situation.
