If you are ambitious there already is a DEM map on the DLS by jrfolco "Alamosa to Silverton". KUID:73500:100908
It goes farther than you want but you can just load it up and trim off what you don't want. If you are working in TRS22 getting rid of the extra tiles is not that hard.
