AJS Turntable "Waiting for Clearance" problem

I've been working with the AJS Turntable <kuid:122285:1500> and the tutorial at http://trains.0catch.com/tutorial.html

I have an AJS Roundhouse 4-Bay attached and want my locos to move out of the shed onto the turntable and turn so they can go off on an assigned track. I have set things up as described in the tutorial, but while the turntable bridge turns into proper position just fine, the loco sits in the shed and returns a "waiting for track clearance" message. The commands are to turn the table to align, followed by drive to the track mark on the opposite stub track (per the tutorial). I added invisible track off the back end of the opposite track and the same invisible signal recommended in the tutorial. The signal says the track terminates and, I presume, is why the loco won't move. I've tried variations of invisible signals, placements, etc. with no luck.

Any help would be appreciated!

Are there locos on roads in the roundhouse? I have used these turnatbles on several of my routes and have no problem running them under A! control with engines moving onto and off the table after being turned. I only ever use one engine at a time though so do you have other locos in the roundhouse? Try running under AI with only one loco on the route and see if that makes a difference. If it does then you may be able to solve the problem by using invisible track and placing turnouts on the roundhouse roads between the roundhouse and the turntable. If you are still stuck and you want me to take a look at what you are trying to do just PM me and I will give you an e-mail address to which you can send your route for me to take a look.

Well, I figured it out...I put an "end of track" dirt mound at the end of the invisible track on the opposite side, with the invisible signal and it worked. As I understood the tutorial, that shouldn't have been necessary. I can play with the height and throw some shrubs around it to hide it.

Thanks for the reply, Andy. For now, I just have the one loco in the shed since I was only experimenting with trying to get the turntable to work. The scenario I have in mind begins with the locos in their respective stalls, each coming out at prescribed times to go off and couple with their passenger car consists and then go off on their runs. So, yes, later there will be a locomotive in the shed opposite the first one. It will be interesting to see how it reacts! I'll keep your kind offer of personal assistance in mind!

Glad that you are sorted. All of my stubs have a buffer stop at the end which obviously does the ame thing as your mound. One thing worth doing is to use a 10kmh speed sign as the loco enters the turntable which will allow for more accurate stopping in relation to your stub trackmark due to the slow speed

Hi again Andy,

I need to step out for the night, but I'd like to email you about this since you seem to have experience with it. Feel free to PM me and I'll get back in touch when I have more time. Thank you!!
