AJS Roundhouse help needed

I try to seach for threads about it, but the forum doesn't allow 3 letter search terms (grrrr...)

I laid the turntable, and attached the stub tracks, but I can figure out how to attach the roundhouse modules....

I *was* about to the get the roundhouse modules to "snap" into position around the turntable WITHOUT the stub tracks in place, but then all trains would derail trying to enter or exit the stalls...

Can't find a tutorial anywhere (I found the one that talks about the turntable, that's how I learned about the stub tracks...)

Got one of those on my yard module, Yardwork,<kuid:522774:100710> on the DLS, works fine. One common mistake is there are different turntables and roundhouses (or is the plural roundheese?) and you have to match which goes with which. Use the AJS turntable you need the AJS roundhouse sections, use the 120 foot turntable and you need the 120 foot roundhouse sections. If you have the right ones, the section of the roundhouse, once aligned, should just slide up to the turntable and snap into position. The little round spline gizmo at the end of the door track should just snap directly to one of the spline circles on the outer ring of the turntable, the stub tracks are not used there.

As far as I remember, to attach the AJS roundhouse to the AJS turntable you do NOT need the stubs. It just clicks into place and provides its own stubs.

No stubs huh? When I did that the engines derailed even though it all *looked* lined up and snapped in place... I'll grab that module and have a look sniper, thanks!

Dunno what to tell you other than I had the same kind of n00b troubles two years ago. Test all exits, find one that derails, open in surveyor, drag roundhouse section away from turntable and slide back again watching for the "snap", test again. Compounded by the "center" grab point which is sometimes far away from the visual center. One thing that helps for some of the more obstinate types is rotating it slightly so it's not aligned correctly, then when you slide it in to connect it makes the "snap" more obvious as it rotates itself to alignment.

Ok Ive been back and checked this out. It does not need stubs fitted. Rotate the section of the roundhouse that you are fitting so that it almost matches the place you want to fit it. The attach the circle marker on the the inner part of the roundhouse (where the track enters the roundhouse section), to the outer circle marker on the turntable. It will click into place and be ready to use. Add the other sections in same way.

Ok, I played with it today and it seems I upset the connection somehow. I discovered that if I moved the turntable by accident and "ctrl-z" (undo) out of it, the connections become disconnected, requiring me to once again move the roundhouse sections away and back to "snap" them back together.

So, that's my fault - or surveyor's perhaps, at any rate with bit of fussing I got it sorted out.

Stub tracks attach to the turntable when there is no roundhouse segment. Roundhouse segments attach alone.

No I just have to sort out the "logic" of the scripted turntable... pretty sweet having it turn to face you when you stop on the "apron" of the turntable.
