I am using ajs invisible platform and other passenger stations in 2010 but find the trains stop too early when entering the station. Is there a way of adjusting these so that the carraiges stop adjacent to the platform?

a good link but hasn't really solved the problem. another problem I have is I have installed a platform announcment sound and now wish to remove it. However, I cannot see where it is and so I am unable to remove it and though I have deleted the platform the sound keeps working.

Use the "Call At" and then "Load" Driver Commands.

You can also adjust the platforms from "Through" to "Terminus" - click on the (?) button and then the platform.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try the call at command for the station but the only way I could get rid of the unwanted platform sound was to delete the whole ground section and rebuild that area.

Too late for you now but.... it may have been possible to use the "Replace Assets" feature to replace the sound with something visible and then delete the unwanted, but now visible, item.

I have the same sound problem in my 06 route, added something like "Baker junction" I think, just to see what it was, nothing appeared so I just carried on, Now I have the sound of an old prop plane dive bombing a large terminus. Tried all I could to shift it with no luck and no way im going to delete the board. So now every train entering the station gets attacked by the ghost of Biggles and the Red Barron. :hehe:

If you go into wireframe mode in Surveyor, you'll see the sound object. Sometimes they are flat squares with an icon on them, other times they are post-like objects.

Delete them while in wirframe mode so you can see them will solve the problem.

I did the same thing with some seagulls. I wanted the sound of gulls around my docks, but put down too many sound objects because I didn't see where they were placed. Every time I'd drive a train through the area, the gulls would start calling.

Unwanted sounds

I had this problem a few months back. The sound asset was very hard to see even in wireframe mode and even harder to grab with station assets in place. I recall having to drag them aside to reach it.

I tried adding a few different sounds to a sandbox test route I use. The station sounds I tried displayed an image (icon?) of a loudspeaker just below the wireframe. Some other sounds, such as the wolf, displayed a wolf above the wireframe as you might expect. I would have thought that a station sound could have been a switch you can turn off or on and be associated with a station building or an invisible station.

I tried deleting the sounds from my test route using content manager but they returned automatically when I reloaded the test route into surveyor. It would seem that the edit facility in content manager doesn't allow as much editing as it would seem.

I simply use trackmarks to make a train stop in a particular place. I think it looks more realistic to have, say, a long loco hauled train stop with the leading cab at or just beyond the end of the platform compared with a 2 car dmu which stops half way down the platform. The only snag is the train wont load or unload but I can live with that.;)

There are quite a few stations on the DLS that are programed to stop a train in the middle of the platform no matter how long or short it is. The AJS invisible stations are one lot that will

AJS Platforms - Solved

In the software naming of the platform it is good to adjust the length to at least that of the length of the stopping train. In addition drag the platform ends to at least the length of the train. In terminus stations, include a length of invisible track beyond the station, and dont forget a track end. In my District Line route (on the DLS), I found that the doors would not open beyond the measured distances, so I adjusted the platform length to 140 Mtrs on all the platforms.
