Trainz Legend
Hello
My dad would like to know if it is possibly to have a bank engine running on a route?
He would like the train to hook up to the back of a train at one station then unhook at another one but then have IT and the train engine still keep the timetables?
He has tried but when the Bank engine uncoupled the leading engine lost all of its Ai commands...

If this makes any sense does anyone know a way around this or a feature on the DL/S that will let them do it...

Thanks
Anthony

Patience Anthony, it sometimes takes more than a day or two to receive the answer to your question.

hi mate
the only way that i have found so far is to make the lead engine and its wagons back onto the bank engine and then go up the hill and uncouple the bank engine the same way

cheers

Is there anyway after uncoupleing the bank engine to automaticly give it commands and not do it yourself??

mate
yes you use trackmarks to take it to a siding on top of the hill and then uncouple from it and your regular loco and train will carry on

cheers

Ive been pondering on a similar thing, I was hoping to be able to use a linked train system similar to SWT along the london-weymouth line. Class 444's arive as 2 units linked as a single train, then when they reach southampton central they devide, one train goes on to weymouth the other only to bournemouth. I tired to impliment a similar system, I had a driver for each of the two linked trainsets and included an order for the first train to de couple at a station. However the first train wouldnt go to its next order and the rear train forgot all its predetermind orders. This was done through the driver setup system. Is there anyway to impliment this system without breaking the orders? or will it only work as sugested of the decoupling happens out side of a station?

Put a trigger a Southampton, double train hits trigger and loads, decouple. Second driver commands, Wait for trigger XXX- Wait for 1 minute- move to train.
The wait 1 minute gives the first driver time to separate the train, when the new driver moves in, it will already be a new consist.
Now they can both go their separate ways with the rest of their commands.
...simples...
