After an area to model

Ronayne

Hello all, :)

I'm thinking of making a proto-typical route for Trainz, which is (of course) set in the USA. Is there anyone who can tell me an area, and provide photos of areas around the track?

What I'm after is-

~ A mainline which is at least two tracks at most/all times
~ Has small/medium yards
~ Has passenger stations (Amtrak)
~ Has loco maintenance facilities

All help greatly appreciated,

Thankyou, Chris

P.s. I'll consider all suggestions.

Sounds exactly like the SEPTA R3 West Trenton route I'm planning to model, though I didn't plan on taking it all the way to Amtrak.

You certainly could model the Keystone Corridor, at least the portion from Parkesburg to 30th Street Station. All the content exists except, AFAIK, 30th Street itself, and maybe that could be kitbashed. It would have what you're looking for, plus flying junctions and interesting high-speed passenger, commuter, and freight (possibly electrified!) interminglings.

Here's a track diagram from Philly to Harrisburg.

On this page, the first few pics are of the Northeast Corridor. From ZOO on down are pics of the Keystone Corridor.
