Thomas Trainz Add-on Problems

Ok I got Trainz 2010(cant afford 12 atm). How come when I install new trains they never work? Like when I go to the railyard and click my new trains from the list, they don't show up. They install automatically, so what am I doing wrong?

Firstly, you will need to register your copy of Trainz.

You need to open 'Content' & check CM3.3 to see if there (& there normally is) any missing dependencies.
Content manager (CM3.3) is supposed to find all that's needed, but it can miss things.

Check out Shaneturners tutorials, http://trainz.shaneturner.co.uk/tutorials/

To expand on that advice many pieces of content have been made for many versions, and some of the dependencies may be missing dependencies, and will not count as "present and working" until those are also installed. I notice you haven't registered your 2010 game, and that may cause CM to not work correctly for you as well.

Thank you for registering! Find the locomotive(s) in the main window of CM, does it have errors or warnings? You can right click and choose "View all dependencies", and when they appear in the small window, choose "View on main screen". Then you check each one for missing or faulty items.

Ok I checked and saw all the newly installed engines & rolling stock were missing some things. How can I fix that now?

You can log into the web-version of the Download Station. There's a link at the top of the forums here. You can then search for the missing KUID or even put in the name of the locomotive you downloaded. You need to check all the boxes though for the program to search the different versions. After this click on the information for the locomotives and the dependencies will be listed. You should be able to find the KUIDs that are missing.

If this doesn't work, post up here the missing bits and someone will help.

With relation to missing dependencies, simply right-clicking an asset and clicking Download will pick up any incorrectly-categorised dependencies (ones that show up as unknown but are actually on the Download Station).

If the assets are genuinely unknown (and not on the Download Station) it will give you one or more KUID numbers on the View Dependencies box, which will need noting. (It may be possible to use Ctrl and C on the keyboard or right-click>Copy to copy the information)

Some assets show up as unknown for several reasons:
1) The asset is built-in for a past release of Trainz, but not your copy.
2) The asset was removed from the DLS.

In some cases, the asset referenced by the locomotive is an obsolete version that cannot be found on the DLS. You will need to find it manually by browsing through all the available assets by a single user. For example, if you are missing <kuid:123456:8293>, press the '+' button in the Search Pane, choose "Author" from the drop-down menu, and specify the author '#123456'. Then click 'Apply' and look for <kuid2:123456:8293:x>, where x is an integer 1,2,3,.... If you are missing <kuid2:123456:8293:3>, x should be greater than or equal to 3 when you browse for the asset.

If you genuinely cannot find the asset, it may be built-in for a past version of Trainz, it may have been removed from the DLS due to a terms and conditions violation or other obsoletion, or it is exclusively a third-party asset and must be obtained from your web browser. For most assets, a simple Google search will be most fruitful.

Okay, from what I've read that site is notorious for locomotives with missing dependencies. I don't know why. Now is the time to Google the kuids, and then if that fails; list them here.

I have posted all the kuid's I need and no one is helping with those. This is starting to get ridiculous. 3 days already.

I just noticed something. On the CM list it shows the puzzle piece which is missing dependencies, but when I right click and select view dependencies, it shows that nothing is missing or broken, what could this mean?
