It's possible that TRS22 is doing a background database repair because you broke something. This can hog your system and appear as though the program isn't running.JCitron that's the thing. My launcher won't show up to get to settings/install. What happened was I somehow managed to goof up all the text in that white box in the launcher/settings/install menu. And when I exited out and tried to restart game, it says its running but the launch menu won't appear so I cant access that white box. Stagecoach suggested its trying to search for it and I may need yo give it time but I do remember seeing the little loading circle fir a few seconds but it does go away but still no launch menu.
It doesn't show TRS22 to be running at all. Any suggestions? It's possible that TRS22 is doing a background database repair because you broke something. This can hog your system and appear as though the program isn't running.
Press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC at the same time.
This will bring up Task Manager.
Click on Name to put all the running apps in alphabetical order.
Scroll the list until you find TRS22.exe
Are there more than one running?
One will be sitting while the other is busy. You can tell by the CPU, disk, etc. doing lots of stuff with the disk really busy with up to 100% access.
Click on the idle one - the one that's just sitting there.
Right-click and choose End Task.
This will remove it.
It may take a while for TRS22 to start from here.
Forester1 THANK YOU! That worked. Everything back up and running. Very much appreciated. As Stagecoach mentioned above, you may be able to edit the file path at the following location:
C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\N3V Games\trs22 Look for a file called userdata-redirect-map.txt
Edit with any text editor and change the line that looks like this: "c:/program files/n3v games/trainz railroad simulator 2022" "E:/Trainz/trs22/build oadv6x201"
The second part should point to your actual data folder.
Then try launching the program.
But it seems odd that the launcher isn't even showing, as that launches from c:/program files/n3v games/trainz railroad simulator 2022\TRS22.exe
I'm glad you got TRS22 up and running. I don't understand why it wouldn't start up and ask you for a username and password and create a new database.I want to thank all of you guys for helping me out. Very much appreciated. One more question. How do I restore an accidentally deleted route?
Sweet! Got my route back. Thanks for all your help.I'm glad you got TRS22 up and running. I don't understand why it wouldn't start up and ask you for a username and password and create a new database.
Whatever...
Anyway, to restore a deleted route or any asset, this requires a bit of work in File Explorer.
Open up your Trainz user data folder. This is usually located in C:\Users\<your login>\App Data\Local\N3V Games.
The folder named begins with build.
Within that folder is a backups folder.
Open the backups folder and then the date where you think you may have deleted your route.
Look for the kuid for your route. There are rarely names. You can tell if it's a route because that file will be larger than others.
Copy that .tzarc file and paste that into the TRS22 editing folder.
Start the Launcher and run a database repair.
This will import your backed up route.
Excellent!Sweet! Got my route back. Thanks for all your help.
