Accidental...."as opposed to"?

No Friend requests please
I find the wording of this news story to be rather odd. Does this rule out suicide? Was the train ever suspected of murder?

I wouldn't be surprised...

I have heard of "suicide by cop".

Perhaps this incident is "suicide by train"?

No, I do not think the train will be found guilty.

Perhaps he could not get TS12 working on his comp and just decided that this would be the ultimate train ride.

Have fun,

A train being suspected of murder? :hehe:

While the possibility of it being accedential is certainly there, how do we know that it was not suicide? For all we know, he could have gone and stood out on the tracks, waiting for the train (suicide), or he could have been one of those drunk guys that went and laid down with his head on the rail to rest/nap (accedential). They do not seem to give any details to give one more weight.

Regards.

Gentlemen; the article states that the results of the autopsy indicates that it was accidental. Do the nature of the wounds indicate that the deceased was sitting, standing, walking, running? If the deceased were walking or running, could it not still be intentional (suicide)? How does the autopsy indicate that the death was accidental? If the autopsy is performed to decide between accidental death and...what...homicide? HE PLACED HIMSELF IN FRONT OF A TRAIN! Either by accident or by intentional suicide, and just how could an autopsy differentiate between the two?

We are talking about Chicago here. :)

I often think most people don't read what they write before they publish it. I ride public transit in San Jose and on every bus and train they have a sign that reads: Your tax dollars pay to clean this vehicle. Do your part by picking up stuff [approximate rendition].

I'm often tempted to ask why I have to pay taxes to clean up the bus and clean it up myself as well.

'Accidental' as opposed to 'intentional' - on the part of the victim.

Most likely the finding means that rather than a suicide, he was probably drunk and didn't have a clue what was going on.

The whole article is written like a hit and run would be over here....... I suppose the whole judiciary were up for days wondering if the train could have swerved to avoid the man... :hehe::hehe:

You can't commit suicide if you are intoxicated?
An autopsy is going to disprove being pushed or shoved? It doesn't take enough force to leave a bruise to move a person off balance.

A train has no mind. Trains have minds in fiction. This is the real word. Therefore someone had lost some common sense when the news caster was writing that report.

The news story is way too vague to support any controversy here. I see no poor errors in the journalists wording in the story, aside from a complete lack of all details.

So how do they determine he wasn't pushed in front of the train?
It would be interesting to see the result of the investigation if he were someone of importance.
Seems like a quick way to tidy up some paperwork & close the case.

If it had it been:

Then possibly

I think we watch way too much CSI ... there is Nothing in the journalists wording to support, or to suggest any wrongdoing or foul play, "according to the journalists article" ... only someone from the "peanut galley" with no expert opinion, made the abstract, ridiculous, assumption, below the article.

Assumption: "That's a very funny looking wurd, that often applies in 2 ways":hehe:

@Euphod, I've been involved with arson investigations, which is in a way, and autopsy of what was burning. Its amazing what science can be applied. Its no different with humans. For example, there is a process of elimination... all you really do is "rule out" things... Lightning? Electrical? Was there an accelerant if so what type? same for humans. Are there any wounds to indicate a fight before hand. Bullet holes? stab wounds? Was he in a deficient mental state? Heres a good example of an actually investigation: we found a body in a burned out building. Autopsy came back the guy was dead BEFORE the fire. How they know? NO smoke damage in lungs. Lungs where not burned either. So he was not breathing. Deep tissue bruising around the neck however. Classic indication of being strangled. Hope that helps....

What is it with Chicagoians getting hit recently? This happened not two minutes from my house. To think illinoiscentral (Woody) and I were filming the rush there a few weeks ago. I don't believe a verdict has been reached on that case, intentional or accidental.

Either way, people are become way to lazy around railroad tracks. That's the fifth death in Wood Dale in the last 5 years caused by trains. There have been countless deaths around the RTA counties in that time as well. I guess modern society, although this post is referring to people well over 30, is becoming less aware of their surroundings, and aren't caring much for their well being.

Oh well, I guess I might as well get with the times.
