Is there a Rule out there that can cause a driver or his train to only use the priority track assigned to it?
My challenge is to have my mainline commodity trains deliver into a restricted area. (train priority 2 into a track Priority 3) But have a shunting engine (Priority 3 train) stay in the designated area. I have used some directional markers to assist but would like some more options. to keep that shunting loco off the mainline unless I intervene. in addition I have noted that in many cases my AI's will ignore the track priorities and use the track priority 3 even though its quite plain that the shortest route is on the mainline and it has a matching priority.
what I was hoping for was a rule that double checked the priority assignments to the trains and the track and restrict the trains I put into the rule to only use the matching priority...EVEN IF another Priority track available might resolve the AI's need to navigate a new route to the destination? I would like to restrict trains from using track that doesn't match its priority... Period.. if the priority track available is blocked then you have to wait until either I intervene or the priority track becomes available.
I have a feeling its a scripting project and before I get into it I wanted to ask if there was something available I could use?
