If anyone is interested, I just went through the Panama Canal (Gatun Locks) into Gatun Lake and back out. I took extensive pictures of the little "donkey" engines and track work along the canal as well as yards, some other rolling stock, and the locks themselves.
This would make a great short line (end to end is about 1.5 miles) but perhaps just escorting big ships along the canal might get boring so could this be married to the ship simulator?
