A search actually worked but the url didn't

I did a forum search on some missing dependencies that I need for some 0-6-0 locos; and it worked.

http://home.comcast.net/~eng95/kuid2_39730_61000_2.cdp
http://home.comcast.net/~eng95/kuid_39730_60001.cdp
http://home.comcast.net/~eng95/kuid_39730_60002.cdp
http://home.comcast.net/~eng95/kuid_39730_60003.cdp

The only problem is that when I paste (or double click) on any of the above links into my windows explorer 8. I get page not found. however this part of the link works:
http://home.comcast.net

But I can't get any futher into the url

what am I doing wrong.

Apparently those CDP files were on a Comcast user's personal website (hence the address of home.comcast.net), but those files on that user's website might not be available any more. The main website is home.comcast.net, with subfolders for each Comcast user's personal website (e. g. the "~eng95" part of those U. R. L.s).

I successfuly reached that user's main page, http://home.comcast.net/~eng95/, but I do not see any Trainz-related links on there.

EDIT: I just checked the user profile here on the forums of the presumable creator of those CDP files, KlausM (http://forums.auran.com/trainz/member.php?u=9730), and he was here yesterday. It appears that he has left the community.

Regards.

thanks for those files. its a big step forward for me.

But I think I need the 60000 one too.

Do you know of a replacement for it or do you think I could get by without it??

I'm at work so I'll have to wait and try some thing tonight when I get home.

Thanks for giving me what you had.

It's what I like about Trainz. whenever I need help it seems like there is always someone who is willing to jump in and help me.

Thanks so much for the missing dependencies they helpped but now I have another problem. its been their all the time butI was hoping that if I got all the dependencies it would clear up.

It seems like I have a driving rod??? that is attached only on one end to the last of the 3 driving wheels. the other end is flapping in the breeze. any idea what is wrong??

Dave

PS: see the attached picture if I can figure out how to do it.. also all the other 0-6-0 engines have the same problem.
PPS: I can't seem to insert a picture because it asks for the url address and I have no idea what it is. I just hope you know what the problem is.

To post a picture you have to store the picture on a picture site the reference a link here.
As to the 0-6-0 with the driving rod problem, post the kuid number of one that has that problem here so we can check it.

Sorry for talking so long to get back to you but its been a busy week-end.

I have since found a generic 0-6-0 engine on the download station that will work but is not as nice as the ones I wanted but it does work.

I don't really know what the problem is. probably one on my dependices but they don't show any trouble and no one else has the problem so it must be me.

I wouldn't put a lot of time into it since I do have a work around but here are 2 of the many 0-6-0s that I'm having a problem with.

Baltimore & Ohio 0-6-0 1197 kuid2:45588:1197
Chesapeake & Ohio 0-6-0 15 kuid2:45588:1115:1

Like I said I can use the generic engine to haul around the B&O and C&O tenders and I'm OK with that because my first love is Prowler's k-27s and k-36s. and c-16s

How I got into this problem was by trying to clean up my DB getting ready for 2012.

And thanks to all the help you and this forum have given me the last couple of weeks I'm just about done.

But with out that help I'm afraid I would have been stuck in compatiability mode and trainz would have passed my by; because there is no way I'm giving up my k-27s and k-36s.:D

PEV-Please Read

The problem with spike artifacts appearing on steam loco bogies is due to some updated bogies that were made by using PEV's PM2IM utility to convert .pm mesh files to .im. There are problems using PM2IM on some animated meshes. Here is a picture of the original 0-6-0 .pm mesh bogie.

Here is a picture of the same bogey after passing it thru PEV's PM2IM utility.

Have you tried the conversion using PM2IM2006? It's installed into the PM2IM folder. It uses a different, slower, conversion process. It has resolved a fair few problem mesh conversions for me, especially with driving wheel bogies.

Sorry Klausm. I didn't know you had a link. I thot you had retired from Trainz:o

Bob Weber

That's correct. I am no longer active and I play Trainz only quite seldom since then. Nevertheless, I come by once in a while seeing how things develop.
