A Route from Enzo1

June 1995... We see the one of the last BN coal trains that will service the powerstation before the merger. After the BN-ATSF merger, they would discontinue service to the power station. Also seen is UP/CNW after the take-over in April of the same year.

This is a special meet!

Now time for that UP/CNW train after the April takeover.

A step-back to the present... Irish City Co-Op train waits at West-Front Village.

The daily Q-train rolls through with more pool power, this time from our friends at KCS

May 2001: While after the merger BNSF may have cut off coal service to the area, they still ran unit grain-trains. I can still remember smelling the awesome exhaust fumes from the EMD diesels as the powered through often in run-8 through West-Front.

Today is a unit grain train with a boss lash-up of 6 EMD's including Oakway SD60's and a couple green giants.

Powering past the abandoned West-Front Village Depot

I love that sign. It is still there today!

UP ran local service to the area featuring an EX CNW SD40-2 that has yet to be patched at this time.

The abandoned station at West-Front (Yes, West-Front Village and West-Front are really the same city, but passengers were directed to this station here while freighters did crew changes at West-Front Village Depot.)

One thing I like about this particular spot is the fact you can see almost the entire train!

Nice route there Chris! You could use to cut some of the grass back being that it is growing onto those tracks there, usually lines that use such big power don't have grass growing that high over the tracks.

April 2009, Irish Co-Op Railway celebrates 4 years of operation now.. We see one of their trains working in West-Front.

July 1992: One thing great was having a family that traveled for work often. Got to take trips to different places along the line, like this one here near a farm...

First we see a GE Test-bed at work before going full-scale.

Two things I loved about CNW: Green and Yellow, and SD40-2's

September 1998: CNW may be gone, and the faces of railroading may have changed, but what is at the heart of this line will never change! Two things I love about UP: Overpowered 3,500ft Q-trains and Big-Macs at work.

One more thing I love about UP, always throw the classics on the heavy MoW ballast trains... about 5,000t of that gravel stuff moves at helm of 4 classics including a former CNW at the lead.

June 2000: We see a work train zooming towards the sight of a derailment a ways down the road from here..

July 2001: Plenty of goodies on this 1 hour stint Trackside....

To get the party rolling, we see the daily Q-Train rolling towards the Big-Hill.

Into dynamic as the train begins the descent towards the up-grade section.

Shortly after the daily Q, we see a grain-shuttle with a couple LMS Leasing Trash 8's :hehe:

Sweet! 6,000ft of Intermodal and only 2 units! CNW C40-8 and UP AC6000, what a combo!

One of my favorite events to attend, the 48 hours of Irish City lines. Nothing more than 48 hours of railfanning this amazing line. We begin early in the morning on day 1....
Roughly 6:00AM a fresh CP single-stack train with an EX SOO unit pays a visit.

About 6:30 AM: We see a nice little transfer train with a couple SD60M's leading the way.

7:05 AM: We see the typical like we expect to see a lot of during this event.

Things change up, about 8:00AM we catch a Z-train... Not any old Z-train though, one carrying the UP 1996 and UP 2002 on the same train.

Let's go back to back, 8:30 or so, yet another Z-train shows up.

So far very well. I am getting 30 FPS with my route so I'm sure that others will do as well. I would consider it as an option, plus I'm sure you saw the post in that other thread about it. There are minor drawbacks, but I like the machine very much.

Where did you get the GP30's in post 35?

Cloakedghost Payware models. Very nice models, I would consider getting them.
