Ok I am wondering if I should download his routes?

Ok first I agree most routes are plain crap, but are his routes good & are they virus free?

No they are not good, they are fantastic!

You will look far and wide to find any better.

As for virus problems. I've personaly never had any
virus problems with CDP files, period.

After thought: This route is available on RRMods for those without a first class ticket for faster downloading.
If you have a fast internet connection this would be recommended. It is the same CDP that resides on the DLS.
Don't forget the session download that is seperate. Also available on RRMods.

There is no way to be 100% sure anything is virus-free. However, exploit writers usually write exploits for high-profile applications so as to maximize impact; that's the reason why Firefox is safer than Internet Explorer, because 80 still holds something like 3/4 of the browser market.

If optimal performance is one thing you're looking for (as most games really work the hardware) then you ideally wouldn't want to have an internet-enabled machine anyway, so the virus issue may be moot anyway.

I'm also enjoying this beautiful and large UMR2011-Summer route, although I have some problems with signals in sessions (but this is about other thread). I'm planning to try other versions like Winter or Indiana. I have a small question for I haven't found answer anywhere - is this route real or fiction? If real, it's from Indiana or other states?

All of these routes are fictional. The Indiana route was created by George Fisher, and he allowed me to update it for the later versions of Trainz. Also, if you have the UMR2011, you already have the Indiana route, as it was merged into the UMR. In fact, all my routes to date (with the exception of Toronto Lakeshore West (which IS prototypical)) have been merged into the UMR. If you have TS12, I'd suggest getting the latest version. It's called UMR-TS12-Summer. And the signals have been fixed too! Hope you like it.

I thought it ;-) You affirmed that I don't need Indiana route, maybe except FALL-INDIANA WESTERN 2010, because UMR hasn't fall edition. Is route Desert Mountain Plains merged to UMR too?

Unfortunately I haven't TS12, only TS10. Do you plan to fix signals in this version too?

But what I would make first - thank you for this route! I like US routes and this is another gift for me :-).

Unfortunately, I don't have any of the older versions anymore, so, no, the signals will not be fixed in the earlier versions. And yes, DMP is merged as well. If you ever upgrade to TS12, check out the latest version. TS12 can be a little finicky at first, but it's well worth it for the performance enhancements.

Thank you for explaining. Now I tried only three of six sessions for UMR2011 Summer and only one session I can use. But I hope I'll can use more. :)

I bought TS2010 recently and I don't plan to buy TS2012 now. But when I do it, it will be probably only by reason of UMR. ;)

I have one question - do you think it's possible to use sessions from UMR2011 Summer to UMR2011 Winter? If both layouts are differ in ground textures and buildings only...

Of course I would have to make a clone of Summer session and replace map-kuid to kuid of Winter... Those days we have a lot snow and heavy cold weather, so why not drive in winter? ;)

I don't think you should have any problem switching summer sessions to the winter. You just have to change the "map" kuid in the session config, (remember to change it in the kuid table as well), and make any weather adjustments you wish. Best of luck!:)
