A new Trainz NYCTA/MTA edition

Subways and railroads
How does auran feel about creating a full length NYCTA/MTA game. this game will only have NYCTA/MTA trains in this game just something for NYCTA/MTA lovers. everybody who creates NYCTA items can contribute to this game as a helping hand.

whats stopping them from making a game like that all the NYCTA cars are basically created except the R38, R42, R40M, R68, R142, r160

well one problem with this concept is that it drastically narrows their target audience...

cheers

Not everyone would want a strickly MTA/NYCTA game.... building such a version would require a significant amount of work on auran's part. They really have to ask themselves 'is this going to pay off' and I can not see such a specific version paying for itself seeing as they sell games all around the world. Maybe inclueding a MTA or NYCTA route to the next addition of trainz would satisfy your craving?

cheers

I would Subways are my life.

what about in their next trainz version they add the whole system with other trains and routes from around the world in their as well

As Auran don't really do a lot of route-building these days (The Harlem Line was their last full route), then why not build it yourself? They are always on the look-out for quality routes for the next release...

Personally I'd love to see some an American subway / metro route included, but I'd never be likley to buy on on it's own. That's why I didn't buy TC1&2, but was glad to see the routes in TS09/10.

I believe that I'm the only person who created the entire NYCTA subway system. I want to create a new version of the entire NYCTA subway system for TS2010 but I'm 54 years old and have arthritis. I'm not a good artist.

World of Subways would be my best suggestion. Prod them to create an MTA route. They did very well with the PATH line. Excellent physics, visuals, and sound.

As for Trainz; why not make the MTA an "open" project, involving anyone who is capable of doing such work, and loves the subways.

I don't know how easy or difficult creating an extensive subway route would be in the current TS2010 build. I would suspect that it would be a lot easier to "excavate" the tunnels and then place the buildings, including stations into the excavation, so that it meets up with street level on the top, and platform/track level underground.

To create accurate scenery and track objects for MTA, one would most likely need a license from MTA, and explicit permission to photograph the subways and trains.
That part might be something I could do. I've got a Nikon D200, and Adobe Photoshop.
I don't think I would mind spending some time underground riding and photographing the system. But I would absolutely need to get the expressed permission from MTA. I live only a few miles from NYC, in NJ.

Not trying to be rude but they call that a full Route they left out a bunch of stations.

Ooooh, can't wait! I took a look at your videos and it looks niiiice!

As someone passingly pointed out such a suggestion may not necessarily be worth it financially. There is nothing inherent that says that such a route is universally wanted or appreciated. After all it is perhaps too narrow a project for a global activity? I dare say umpteen other countries with worthy routes could claim the high ground too. I am not saying it is a negative route but it is too selective geographically to be a commercial basis.
