If this has been posted elsewhere, accept my apologies, but bimbling around the forums while I convert files from 2004/06/ to 2009, and noticing a lot of either corrupt or missing KUID files and seeing threads about here on the forums regarding the same subject, I have found a little trick that does help.
Quite simply, once you have run a conversion from whatever version to version you want, run the import content option again, it takes next to no time as the content manager will fly through already installed assets and you'll be surprised at how many more assets are found and installed, I have done this 5 times and found over 250 KUID's that were originally listed as missing or damaged in 2009. Also back filling, i.e. 2009 to 2006 finds and repairs more assets that when converted back, are installed with no adverse effects.
