A little confused with Trainz Railroad Simulator 2006

Hello

I am new to this forum and want to check with you first before getting myself a software program of Trainz Railroad Simulator 2006. Anyway I was browsing through the sites for Trainz Railroad Simulator 2006 on the Internet. All I see is the front cover of this simulator with the ultra-modern hi-tech Mag Lev. The one I am looking for is different front cover of the same simulator with the leading locomotive, Norfolk Southern with freight train. OK now what I want to know if both simulators are the same even with the ultra-modern hi-tech Mag Lev? All I want is North America not other countries. If you happen to know where to get this software with Norfolk Southern freight train and let me know please. Any help would be appreciated.

the one with the ns lokey is what i have, which is 2006 WITHOUT service pack one. it's also five cd's rather then a single dvd and is something of a bear to install. if you have the option and the price is the same or no object, actually i believe the dvd (of trs2006)which INCLUDES sp-1, is available at the online store, for 20 bux u.s.

(something i just haven't gotten arround to roundtuiting)

without sp-1 you can still download and run MOST 2006 assets and pretty much all 2004 and earlier (except some complain about it but run anyway), but NOT layouts made with 2006, with or without sp-1, and also not some of the narrow gauge stuff (that you CAN eventually find on dls and elsewhere once you figgure out how to look for it) which has dependent assets that are included in sp-1 but not in 2006 without it.

also sp-1 fixes, makes work, certain functions of cmp, that have bugs without it.

so it just depends on what you need/want. 2006 has a LOT of built in content, whether or not its what you're most interested in running/building with, is of course entirely a matter of personal taste. 2006 w/sp-1 has everything 2006 has, plus fixes and addition content

Basically, the better version is the one with the MagLev on it. The picture is not important, as you can download anything that has been created and add it to the game, whether it is from the Auran DownLoadStation (DLS) or from third-party sites.

I forgot to add, if you look on the Auran shop, you may find a box set of TRS2004, TRS2006, and trainz classics 1 & 2, then you can try them all and see which one you like best.
