I thought this up while taking a test last night, here go's, Everyone on the forums loves trains right? Okay, I'm making a little test, for fun, to see just how much we all know about trains! These are questions I managed to think up. So try your best to answer them. Have fun!
1. How long did the Penn Central last?
A. 3 years B. 7 years C. 55 years D. 6 years

2. In what year was the Illinois Central Railroad finished?
A. 1901 B. 1848 C. 1851 D. 1863
The same railroad, IC merged in to what Railroad,
A. BNSF B.Canadian National C.Union Pacific D.Conrail in what year,
A. 1998 B.1944 C.2001 D.1999.

3. The Florida East Coast Key West Extension was destroyed by what?
A. Flood B.Tornado C.Tropical Storm D.Hurricane

4.Ditchlights were mandated in what year?

Ummm one problwm, Yea sure everyone likes trains but not everyone is American or has a huge knowledge of the railways over there...
 
Yeah, nice idea IC, but, we all have the internet and could easily find the answers and you'd never ever know how knowledgeable we really were......:p

Hahaha, you are obviously very young.......When I was at school matey, if you spoke out of turn in class you got slippered, and as for looking at your mates' papers, in a test/exam, that was good enough reason for being expelled. How times have changed in our education systems......:)

2. In what year was the Illinois Central Railroad finished?
A. 1901 I'll go for this as the branch to Omaha, Nebraska west of Fort Dodge, Iowa was opened as late as 1899

The same railroad, IC merged in to what Railroad,
B.Canadian National C.Union Pacific
A. 1998 though I believe this was a buyout not a merger

3. The Florida East Coast Key West Extension was destroyed by what?
D.Hurricane Labour Day 1935

4.Ditchlights were mandated in what year?
C.1995

...that shows just how much an englishman can know about american trains...A LOT! I don't even know the answers to most of those questions!
 
I totally do not know number three :hehe: :p :p :p Just kidding!

...and the same railroad number three corresponds to did not install ditchlights on their newest engines! :eek: :confused:
 
you left out steamers as well. What year did the east broad top stop Operating. A 1956 B.1978 C. 1900 D It never stopped operating

When did the last Rio grande lettered Locomotive leave Durango
A. 1980's B.1900's C. 1990's D. They never stopped leaving E.2008 (Think carefully about this)
