A few questions about the forums...

Euphod

No Friend requests please
... from a twelve year old boy:

Dad, why do people ask the same question that has been answered a billion times before?

Dad, why do people post screen shots in a competition thread that are unfinished, or taken in Surveyor with arrows or junction names showing?

Dad, why don't people use the search function?

Dad, why do people ask for links to programs that could easily be Googled?

Dad, why do people ask for help with other games, sometimes competitor's games?

Dad, why do people post answers to the same question when it has already been answered?

Dad, why do people post about creations they are going to make, without screen shots, or anything to show for it?

Dad, why do people post without using a spell checker?

Dad, why do YOU post sometimes making fun of other people's posts?

Ed,

This is a great thread. I'm glad you're hanging around here again. Your humor always gives me a good laugh, which I need very badly these days. :) When I read this one, I nearly splattered my tea on my keyboard!

Speaking of really funny threads, do you remember your breaking news story about the forums being down one day? This was quite a few years ago in the old forums, back in the "old days". I never laughed so hard after I read that one. It was and is a classic.

Good one, Ed. Very much appreciated. I've found myself yelling the very same questions to my monitor, but it simply sits there flat-faced and doesn't answer.

Dad, why don't the mods ever move initial posts entered in the wrong panel to the right one?

Bill

Well done Ed, this may stop my poor head from hurting so much now as I don't need to head butt the desk as often ;)

Dad, what does the word Euphod mean?:)

Dad, is Euphod a bad word that I should not use?:)

Ed,

Some excellent questions in your post. Sadly, many may not get or understand the message.

Regards,
Ron

Ed, you're just too much sometimes. It's good to see some humor around here for a change.

Very true John, I am also happy to see Ed more often then not.

I think many of us have the same thoughts as you Ed, but we just never put them into so many words.

Great work and a well worth the split coffee.

Lucky I was not drinking beer, then I would be unhappy :hehe::hehe::hehe:

Thanks for the encouraging words gentlemen all, but rest assured my son has asked me these questions while trolling the forums. He dabbles in Trainz a bit on my PC, and has helped me when my vision was worse. He doesn't post, but he reads and learns.

I appreciate your comments, I just wish we could all be in the same room, shaking hands, clapping backs, laughing and maybe enjoying a snifter or two of brandy together. It feels like that sometimes. In my imagination, we all have handlebar mustaches, are wearing tweed suits and bowler hats. Mr. Citron has a fine wood cane with a locomotive on top and Ron is a big game hunter with a pith helmet for some reason. Zato is far too expansive for my meager imagination to encompass, but Bill has brought the cigars, so lets have another, a smoke, and though I see Mike is checking his pocket watch, let us laugh for awhile longer!

The black silence will come soon enough...

Joe , :hehe:

Ed ,

Your humor is much needed and greatly appreciated here on
the Forum , especially now as it goes through another period
of negative threads and posts . It seems to happen once a
year , a month or two after Santa has visited .

great one their Joe. At last someone has dared to post what I have very often thought.

I felt there has been some great humor on the forum in the last week or two I especially enjoyed the " beer is brain food thread"

DAD,why do people on the forum get mad at me when i bump a 2 year old post?:p

Me thinks people should not mind old threads getting bumped up to modern day, regardless of how boring they are. ;) After all, those old threads are just sitting there, clogging up the database and server, so why not make use of them, rather than wasting server and database space?

Regards.
