A Driveable Conductor

A drivable conductor, that would couple to the rear car, and ride the rear railcar end ladder, and has a cab view in his head, would make switching cars more realistic.

Great idea.

The conductor could be connected to the train car like a railcar. This is the same way the FRED is connected on the end of freight trains.

Yeah, I admit, it would look awesome, but when coupling and uncoupling cars, where do you put him? If there was an easy way to add and subtract him from the consist that didn't involve uncoupling him to a siding, I'd be all in!

We can only dream up the great ideas. This part we'll leave to the content creating experts!

Thank you, Ed.

Sadly it was your post on Ron that brought me back. I saw the link the newsletter today. I cried when I read that and every time I think about it, I get that lump in my throat.

Back on subject.

Cascader:
A conductor or foreman or brakeman riding the front of an engine would surely add realism and we may be close to achieving that objective. Recently a talented Trainzer who calls himself evilcrow (kuid 255503) uploaded a PRR caboose that has a rail man attached. Now we need to have somebody describe how to add attachment sites to switch engines. With attachment sites we could place a rail man figure on the engine and tool around the yard. Or better we could make products of some rail men (evilcrow has done that with a couple of Neoklai rail men) so they could be loaded and unloaded when desired. Ideally we would want our rail man attachment or product to have an internal view so we could watch the switching operations up close.
Another option would be to hire out on some railroad as a switchman. Then we would really have realism.
