3RD Tutorial Confounds Me--Had it with this game

I cannot make hide nor hair of the 3rd tutorial. I am sitting in the rear cab of a commuter train, so I cannot see anything, where or when the train is going precisely because I am not in front. I move the throttle forward as the ai moves the train, and then it derails.
So I cannot complete the tutorial.
FOr those keeping score apparent defects in this game have prevented me from learning how to uncouple and now I cannot get passed the third tutorial to learn how to drive from the cab.
The frustration I feel is turning white hot. For those of you who listen to Adam Carolla I am reminded of his recount of buying call of duty where the game sticks him in te bunk of the Arizona, always getting blown to bits before getting to the deck--this despite being in the company with an experienced gamer.
Someone please help or I am about to do whatever I can to get my money back.

If I remember correctly, the 3rd tutorial is where you're told to wait for the first half of the train to leave - you're sat in one cab of a 2-part train that is about to be split.

It takes a minute or two, but you just need to be patient and the AI will pull away taking the first half of the train, and then you can wait for the signals to clear and get on with the 'mission'.

Yes but you are connected to that second half are you not? I find the whole thing very cumbersome. Is there a better way to learn how to do it?

NikkiA is correct, you need to wait for the rear section to depart under AI control.

You need to be patient with this game and read and then re-read the Driver Instructions.

I have tried it twice already. It is the most absurd idea ever to have someone learn how to drive from the rear.
AGAIN--are there any other scenarios recommended to learn how to do this.

Again, you are not driving from the rear, you need to wait for the section at YOUR rear to depart and wait for the 'All Clear' to be given. Once that happens it is a very simple tutorial.

This is all mentioned in the 'Driver Information' that you are shown as the session starts.

The train divides here and you will be driving the rear portion to the airport and back.
So if you'd wait for the front portion to leave you would then be at the front in the rear portion.

I've just run this tutorial to see what happens and by the looks of it you are being too eager to drive the train.

The tutorial starts with you watching the train enter the station, comes to a stop, the doors open and then you are placed in your 'Driving' Cab (you head in the same direction as the front section but divert of the main line to head to the airport). Whilst this happens you have a few pages of instructions displayed for you to read through, as I was reading through them the front part of the train departed and left the track in front of me clear to proceed.

As I said earlier this is all mentioned in the Driver Help that is displayed, just take your time and read the instructions.
