2010 service packs

Hi all, Just recieved my 2010, quick question. Before i install, do i need all the service packs. or does the latest have all the updates and fixes of previous packs. And i suppose you install 2010 and then start up or do you install and then you do all your service packs. and do they automaticly install or do you save them somewhere on your desktop first. Thanks.

You'll find that service packs upgrade from a given build number, so you need to apply them in sequence so that you reach each build number in turn to enable the next pack to work. For versions before 2010 there were eventually service packs that leap-frogged over some build numbers but that hasn't yet happened with 2010 as far as I know.

That said, your new first version may well be after Sp1 or 2 (or even 3) so install and then check the build number it declares.
