2010 help route building

Can any one please please let me know how many miles/km are on a single board from edge to edge in ho gauge for track laying. As i want to build a curvey route about 89km long.

Also what is a DLC as i have 20% discount waiting for me to use on the blue comet, is it a disk from auran plus P&H

If you set the route scale to HO you can use the built in mesuring tools

Each board is 720 metres by 720 metres in real life. For HO each is thus 720 x 87 metres as (if I remember correctly) HO is 1:87. For any model equivalent, multiply 720 by the scale factor, then convert to miles. But why bother? Just use miles!

Thank you guys i like miles any way, but where is the built in measuring part? is it to do with track laying?

You will find rulers in the tab with the 'spanner' icon.

The 'scale' thing is a bit of a furphy left over from the original concept of Trainz as a 'model' railway simulator. It has since graduated to a more-or-less fully fledged railway sim. The only thing that changes with 'scale' is the read-out on the rulers...
