Hi all, I have just joined your forum and firstly I would like to say hi to everyone.:)
I have a couple of questions, I hope you could help?
what are the extenders for layout tracks, engines, buldings etc; called and which sub folder in trainz do you put them in? so you could access them thru surveyor, how do you move items to your favorites in trainz?
I went to downoad station and downloaded two layouts and the files have downloaded into a download folder I have created, not in the trainz folder or subfolders.
1. mohawk yard extender for that file is a cdp, which folder do I put that file in trainz so I can access it thru 2009wbe surveyor?
The other file is an exe, proteus yard, when double clicked it installs but I can't find it in surveyor.
Where would be a good place to look for info on using bridges and how signals operate, basically anything that helps with using surveyor...
One other thing, my grandfather was a shunter driver, driving steam trains in Gateshead, north east england, it was a huge shunting yard, it's not there anymore I would like to try and attempt to recreate it, where would one look for plans or layouts of that yard? I have tried looking on the internet but no success yet.

The normal extention on downloaded kuids is .cdp. TS2009 uses a database management system that you have to access using CMP which will place the kuids into the right place. You don't need to use the DLS directly.
If you select an asset for download in CMP and click start it will download it, process it and commit it to the database.
If you have .cdp file that you want to put into Trainz, use CMP by clicking File - Import CPD and it will complete the process.
If you have a kuid folder you can bring it into Trainz using CMP by clicking File - Import Content.
